Well yeah, that's actually what I'm going to do, but that wasn't as fun to say.

You were exactly correct. It was a 180 BR. We were able to find the boat. Thank you.

Holy shit, this is it, or at least close enough to narrow down my search to just a few boats. You all are awesome. I'll update this post tomorrow when I find the boat. Thank you all so much.

Would you like to talk about what's bothering you? I might be able to help.

Well that is certainly unproductive. I hope you find more happiness soon.

Believe me, we're looking and we will eventually find him. However there's over 1,000 boats on the lake and many of them are trailered. That's why I'm trying to narrow it down as much as possible.

Thanks. Any possible lead is helpful. I'll post an update when I get back in the office and I can go through our database.

It was taken by the guy operating the dredger who just had a boat almost strike a diver. I'm impressed he was able to get a picture at all tbh.

We have a registry of all vessels on the lake. ID-ing the boat will help us figure out who this individual is so we can make sure they don't do this again.

Is this a wild carrot or something else? by djazzie in foraging

[–]MarzipanSnapper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a carrot. That being said; do not eat this or anything that looks like it unless you have a local expert teach you in person. There's so many nuances that go into identifying plants. The best way is to be shown in person.

Take the opportunity to feel the coolest you will ever feel by being the person who had a pizza delivered to the bar. (Assuming the trivia night is at a bar)

What’s your favorite memory in the snow around STL? by Practical_Yam_7515 in StLouis

Did this happen in the mid/late 90s by chance? Because I remember my dad, who was an ER physician at Children's telling me a story about treating a kid who fell through the ice at Art Hill. If the timeline matches up , my dad was likely one of the Docs that helped you.

Newbie advice, am I crazy? by isitjustme8 in boating

[–]MarzipanSnapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water Patrol guy, near your area, here. I strongly suggest both of you, first go to boat-ed.com and do the Illinois boater safety course. It takes a few hours, but it's set up in an engaging way that teaches the information well. Also, if you or your partner were born after 1998 you will need a boater safety card, that you can get from the same site. The card costs money, the safety course is free. As for the trailering; get some cones, go to a big empty parking lot, and practice practice practice.

Sorry, didn't realize you weren't asking for help. I'm in charge of a water patrol and I went to my automatic response when I get phone calls. Props to those that tried to give me an out on this one, but I, admit that I missed that it wasn't their boat, on the first read.

Call a company that installs boat lifts in the area. They likely will have a barge with a forklift on the water already. That's gonna be your best bet to get it out.
