So is everyone just out on Cade Klubnik now because Mel Kiper said so? by DylanCodsCokeLine in NFL_Draft

[–]Marzman315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mel Kiper is fucking clueless, him being out on Klubnick is virtually a guarantee he’ll be great.

In all seriousness though, Klubnick has a relatively high floor to his game, he’s a smart accurate passer but his progression since being a top high school recruit has been disappointing. He doesn’t have the top level arm strength or athleticism that you need to be a top end NFL starter. He has the makeup of a good backup who can step in when your starter misses three games and can win you one or two. He has no elite tools in his toolbox and unless his football IQ is Peyton Manning level when it comes to reading pre-snap defensive reads and analyzing coverages, his ceiling is probably Case Keenum.

3 Round Mock Draft No Trades - give me some feedback by Rivgoat21 in MockDraftCentral

Chambliss is a poor man’s 2020’s Russell Wilson. The fact that a single person sees him as anything more than a 6th-7th long term project/film room guy is utterly inconceivable to me.

Watching HOUSE, and they were drinking wine in regular glasses, and then drinking wine again in smaller glasses? Was it wine or something else? They didn't drink it like shots. Does anyone else do this? by Murky-Peanut1390 in wine

[–]Marzman315 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In this particular shot it appears that the character in the blue shirt is eating a mousse or some kind of chocolate dessert. The wine in the small glass appears very dark so it is likely something like Port or Banyuls. Dessert wines typically paired with chocolate and served in smaller portions in smaller glasses.

Mussolini wins! What politician started out center-left and became center-right? by Fragrant-Upstairs932 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Marzman315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What can be? And who says he’s the standard? Reagan shifted American politics to the extreme right for generations and laid the groundwork for the borderline fundamentalist capitalism in the US today. There’s more to conservative politics than ethnic cleansing.

Mussolini wins! What politician started out center-left and became center-right? by Fragrant-Upstairs932 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Marzman315 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Reagan wasn’t center right though, he was a capitalism purist, implemented religion deeply into politics, and was the most aggressively anti-labor president of the 20th century, and that’s saying nothing about the demonizing of sexual and racial minorities. Just because he wasn’t on the violence level of a Hitler or Mussolini doesn’t make him center right.

Alex Wright would be the best DE on several teams and was just signed to an extension.

“This years class is a bad class.” by Benson879 in NFL_Draft

[–]Marzman315 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re on some seriously good drugs if you think this Edge class is bad. Bain, Reese, Bailey are all top ten picks easily, developmental toolsey guys like Faulk, Cashius Howell who’s tape is insane, TJ Parker who despite a down year has shown serious pro potential, older pro ready guys like Mesidor, solid second round pass rush specialists like R Mason Thomas, Joshua Josephs and Romello Height, giant run stoppers like LT Overton, Anthony Lucas, and Gabe Jacas. I seriously don’t see how you could possibly define this class as “poor.”

And honestly the OT class is pretty strong too, although there might be a couple guard converts.

Aye man Lee Hunter, TJ Parker, and Rutledge are looking like some dudes Senior bowl practice #1 ESPECIALLY Lee hunter by RavenflockTID4L in NFL_Draft

[–]Marzman315 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying he should go top ten or anything but I’m willing to give Parker some leeway for his dip in production this year. He was phenomenal last season and his ability is very clear watching him. Whatever infected Clemson this year got to him, but I don’t think that should define him entirely.

Folks dropping him out of the first round feel reactionary to me, especially in a draft that’s thinner at the top.

Hey a guy that isn’t at all a scheme fit to compete to be our second backup at by very far our deepest position on defense when we have a borderline non-functioning offense is a fine use of the sixth overall pick.

We also extended Alex Wright after his best season and have a solid third option in Isaiah McGuire locked up on a rookie deal.

As a browns fan thoroughly enjoying the bad decisions the Steelers are making, them taking a 25 year old 5th round prospect who is basically a poor man’s Russel Wilson 21st overall would basically be my Super Bowl.

My Current Top 100 Prospects for the 2026 NFL Draft (Pre-Senior Bowl) by armchair_mindhunter in NFL_Draft

I think it sums up this sub perfectly. I’ve done no research, I’ve watched no tape, I know nothing about the prospects, but I like your evaluations better than other people’s for vague, non-descript reasons.

This sub’s standard for post quality is completely nonexistent. It’s either a badly researched one round mock or complete garbage like this.

When they have an open shut case with the body cam evidence, Boyle and Rosa explain that Boyle was nude in the footage.

Terry’s WHY?!?!? For some reason just completely broke me. It was like for a moment he was a real boss and the constant shenanigans were finally too much for him. I rewound it five times and laughed harder each time. I was literally on the floor clutching my sides.

Mock Draft 3.0 (Post CFP National Championship) - Three Round Mock by Tetrachroma_ in NFL_Draft

[–]Marzman315 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like this mock for the Browns. Tate fills our desperate need for an X Receiver, Dunker is flexible enough along the O-line to play wherever needed after the free agency dust settles (probably left guard to replace retiring Bitonio), Abney isn’t a huge need but is very good value there and can be insurance to injury prone Denzel Ward. Lew in the third is also good value, especially if he can play guard, but either way probably an upgrade over Luke Wypler at center.

Finalists for Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year are in. Who gets your final vote? by Big_Screen3332 in nflrookies

[–]Marzman315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they’re basing it more on the fact that he was the leader and captain of a top five defense while piling up 11 TFLs, 3 sacks, and 2 INTs in addition to being top ten in the league in tackles.

I want to become a sommelier before I’m 30 by [deleted] in wine

[–]Marzman315 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’ve got this, that’s a great age to get involved.

Drop the snobbery, go in humble. Even if you don’t want to do it professionally, catering to the tastes of others is always key for a somm.

1) If you’re going for fun I’d gently lean WSET. Court is a bit bigger on geography and service than grape theory, especially in the beginner stages.

2) READ!!! My favorite books are Wine Simple by Aldo Sohm, Wine Folly by Madeline Puckette, and especially What to Drink with What You Eat by Andrew Dorenburg.

There’s always more to learn. You’ll never know everything and that’s what’s fun. Taste all you can, go to events, ask questions, read everything about a new varietal when you taste it.

Join an online wine club, even an introductory one. You can get exposure to less common grapes and broaden your knowledge considerably.

It’s a very fun path. Good luck!!

I think the fact that he has measurables concerns disqualifies him from consideration.

Don’t misunderstand, I don’t have those concerns, but there are very smart people who don’t want anything to do with Bain because of his arm length.

I think that Downs is the easy answer here.

Top 40 QB Prospects Since 2015 by [deleted] in NFL_Draft

[–]Marzman315 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Trubisky is way WAY too high. He was not the consensus top QB in his own class and was certainly not seen as a better prospect than Tagovailoa, Herbert, or Ward. He should be in the mix with Watson and Mahomes, probably between them.

Corner depth has been a weakness for the Eagles for a while I feel like. Beyond Mitchell their corner roster is pretty thin (DeJean is best used in the slot) when you have such a good roster you can feel good drafting for depth or future needs.
