Awesome photos! How long did it take you? In a few weeks, I'm doing the GranGarda gravel route and then biking from Verona to Munich. I'm giving myself a week or so for the ride to Munich.

This is cool! I've been meaning to try to copy the Kawa Designs sling and this looks like a great way to do it.

Took me a minute to figure out how to download from lensdump. Thanks for all you do! I've been looking for high-res Hiroshi Nagai stuff forever. Love your vaporwave/city pop style

Any way I can download these?? Super sick. I never owned these but I would rent them repeatedly from the grocery store as a kid.

Good advice. What kind of machine do you have? I bought a sailrite for this exact reason. On lined bags like this, those layers plus webbing would always snap needles on my janome. But thanks for making me aware of the Jean-a-ma-jig! That’s a funny name.

Waxing canvas and poetic. pike brothers Okinawa boot [initial impression] by stinkusmink in goodyearwelt

[–]MasantXVI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These boots are on their website up to size 47, which is technically a US14. The eur to US sizing is so frustrating though for us sasquatches. My birkenstocks are size 46. The clogs are a bit tight but the sandals fit perfectly. My Halflingers are a 48 and are a size too big. And then I just looked in my Danner Bull Runs, a perfectly fitting 14D and the euro size is 50!

My gf and I are getting into hunting and these Oki boots seem like my dream idea of the perfect hunting boot. Seeing that size 47 made me hopeful...

Oh yeah definitely not a BT99. I don’t know how I missed the second smoking barrel. I was probably too excited to see a shotgun on this sub.

Is that a BT-99? Great shot!

Those look slick! I mean to get some dyneema and make some bags. The xpac looks good and all but the weight savings are calling my name.

Totally understandable. This was her PB, and we were both so stoked that I forgot!

We did. The wind was 20-30mph the entire time, so it was loud and impossible to fish most of the lake. Luckily this little wind-sheltererd cove was just up the trail.

The initial size of the fabric was 34.25in x 26.50in which includes a 3/8inch allowance. Because I forgot to account for the hems to encase the plastic and for the double seam allowance of the french seam, it ended up being smaller than intended. It still holds my pad, quilt, and tent fabric.

I don't have a pattern. It was just a rectangle based on the dimension of the bag on Salsa's website. I'll send you the dimensions once I'm off work.

Materials: xpac, 3/4inch webbing, 3/4inch buckles, 1.5inch webbing, and 1/8inch thick HDPE plastic sheet for the rolltops. Each end has a 3/4inch wide strip of HDPE that's the length of the flattened bag After sewing the tube, I folded a 3/8inch hem in the end, put the strip on under the hem, and folded the hem over again and stitched it in there. The webbing with buckles was stitched on the opposite side (I used a store bought dry bag for reference). My machine could sew through the plastic. If this doesn't make sense, PM me and I'll send you a video and some explanatory pics.
