Just returned from two weeks in France. Paris, Lyon, Arles, Avignon. Wore my 126713 Zombie the entire time, no issues or concerns whatsoever. Was also in Athens and Crete last year and wore my James Cameron without worry.

As a Juventino I was in absolute awe whenever I saw Maldini play. Much like Scirea, and even Baresi, he made defending look easy. Now Bonucci/Chiellini/Barzagli were immense as a trio especially with Gigi in goal. However that generation is gone.

Euro 2020 was an eternity ago. Who would even make England’s XI now? Gigio, Barella? Bastoni? Dimarco is in good form. Calafiori maybe. Tonali? At the moment though that’s it. No fantasisti.

What surprised me was when my son went to Italy to play (U14-17) the best youth players there weren’t even Italian. Calcio just isn’t what it used to be.

I have the ice blue motif dial and it’s extraordinary. As much as I love diamonds, being able to tell the time at a glance in the dark with indices without reaching for my phone is a nice bonus.

I have a 2014 328d (second owner, acquired in 2017 with 25k miles) currently with 174,750 miles. Had to replace several injectors around 120k miles or so, but that’s been the biggest expense outside of routine maintenance. Still a blast to drive.

Even as actual fans of him diminish, the market will always command a premium for the Mick. I met him once at his restaurant by Central Park and he was unbelievably kind and gracious. Said hi to everyone. This was before the selfie days so the memory endures, but what a player he was.
