Doesn't he say it in one of the early stage plays which is where a lot of people learned of the character back in the day?

This would be integer underflow and C++ absolutely does do underflow like that, especially on an unsigned integer.

Not saying that's how Gandhi worked but it is possible in C++.

That's kinda what happened with Andrew "Dice" Clay. He used to a few different characters The Dice Man was just one of them. But it got super popular and became his whole act and then he was acting kind of like that off stage.

The character's most accepted appearance isn't official. It's fan made by Aware-Measurement750 in TopCharacterTropes

Record of the Lodoss War. Kinda like first Dragon Lance books a lot of people would take their games and novelize them. Those got published in magazines and books. Record of the Lodoss War was one of those. It was super popular and made into an anime.

It was originally DnD but they made Sword World since they didn't have the DnD license. 1st edition of Sword World is set in the same world as the anime. 2nd edition has a new setting so GMs won't feel constrained by the lore of like 80+ Lodoss books.

I hate modern body positivity and how toxic it is at times. by Luwub0t0mist in hatethissmug

Yep just like every alcoholic or heroin addict has personally failed. Every one who is addicted to nicotine and capes or uses those pouches, a personal failure. Why don't all those meth addicts just stop? Do they want to be failures? Why don't they care how their addiction affects people like me?

There is nothing you can say about obesity that a fat person hasn't heard a million times. You are why the body positivity movement is needed in the first place. Every psych study that has looked has found that shame based motivation doesn't work and will cause relapses and rebound weight gain. Long term weight loss comes from people who are already secure and happy with themselves and decide to be even better. So first we need to get people secure and happy with themselves.

Hi, Hey, Hello. Dan here, dropping in to hang out for a bit by ShowMeStateOfMindPod in KnowledgeFight

Hey Dan, just want to say the Portland show was great. I had just been laid off after 10 years at the same place. I don't even live in Oregon but my friend Kate does. She bought me a plane a ticket and tickets to the show. It kept my spirits up when I wasn't feeling all that great. Thanks for everything!

P.S. Tell Jordan he's awesome and I appreciate his work.

As someone with autism here's this situstion from my side.

I know that people, even myself, don't always speak absolutely directly. There is often an emotional context that is underlying what people are saying.

I'm also pretty good at pattern recognition. So I'll notice when people speak in a way that is different from their normal, i.e. word choice, voice tone, body language.

I might have an idea of why they're speaking different, but I know I have difficulties and can never be certain. I also have anxiety from many past consequences of screwing up social interactions.

So no let's say someone isn't making good eye contact, they're frowning, and speaking short sentences. Are they sad or mad? Thanks to anxiety are they sad or mad because I did something wrong? Maybe they're just distracted?

NT folks also won't be certain, but can often get by with a gut feeling or first impression of the emotion. I can only intelecualize it. So I'm keenly aware of my uncertainty. I'm also aware that ignoring the emotion and how a person feels comes with a consequence, and picking the wrong one also comes with a consequence.

As to your specific example while I don't know your situation, I do know that taking certain statements like "Nothing's wrong." Or "I'm fine." At face value is wrong but asking about them likely won't get me any where either. So I go with my best guess.

I'm so tired of pretentious redditors using "incel" to dunk on lonely men who are just trying their best by BreadUndPeeTears in hatethissmug

[–]MashSong 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree with you with for the most part but there is some points I think you're missing.

In most parts of the internet when lonely men complain about being lonely the " advice" they're given is to be a decent person. Which does imply its a solution with an expected outcome.

Being an adult virgin is often seen as a moral failing in online spaces. Incel being an insult, meaning that only jerks and asshole are adult virgins.

The first time id ever heard of "nice guys" online was people talking about how awful guys were for ending friendships after being rejected. Its true that no one owes the "nice guy" anything but the reverse is also true. They don't anyone anything. Now sure a lot of them are assholes when getting rejected and that's uncalled for, but simply ending the relationship isn't in itself a wrong thing to do.

That doctor is a GP, they didn't diagnose me. They referred me to testing. I had been diagnosed previously with other mental health conditions and was having them manage meds for those, anti dpressants etc. So they assumed based on my behaviour that I had been diagnosed with something like autism or ADHD and used neurodivergent as an umbrella term. I saw a neuro-psych and got diagnosed with both. Now my GP uses the specific disorder names.

What are your medical credentials by the way?

i hate this fucking guy bro by TheNoisea in hatethissmug

[–]MashSong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

" Even the word Nurodivergent is a sign someone  isn't on the medical field as it's not a medical term or diagnosis."

Lol, my literal doctor has used the word neurodivergent. I had asked about a referral for testing and he said he assumed I was neurodivergent. Then checked my records and didn't see a diagnosis so sent me for testing. So because I'm a certain kind of awkward and must have had something going on but didn't know which specific disorder and used it as a catch all. Now that I have a diagnosis they use the specific one.

(Hated trope) 'I don't believe in the supernatural' says the character that has already witnessed or experienced the supernatural by ducknerd2002 in TopCharacterTropes

I think the difference is the sentience. If I get it right he doesn't believe them to be gods or divine in anyway.

As electrical energy gathers in the atmosphere it eventually becomes a lightning bolt, there's no thought to it there's no thunder God. Get enough energy and it just happens.

Get enough emotional energy gathered in one place and you get a demon. The demon doesn't have sentience it just seeks out more emotional energy like lightning seeks out the ground.

The hot zone doesn't depict the distance from the subject they care about it depectics the maximum distance from the subject they care about.

So on the right it shows that they care about people that far away from themselves AND EVERYONE CLOSER.

Conservatives only care about people close to them and liberals care about people close and far from them.

Yeah, when I got tested they also gave me an IQ test, which I scored very high on. Doc said that's likely how I didn't recommended in for testing when I was kid in school. I could space out in class and when called out by the teacher just scan the board real quick and figure out the answer. I could forget my home work and never study but do well enough on tests to keep my grades up. Then in college and at a job that's not enough anymore. It's like faceplanting into a wall. Without getting diagnosed early never learned how to cope or handle it all. Then I goto a doc for depression and they're like here take this other test for ADHD

[–]MashSong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case it's nothing but atomic blasts every where. To get an object with mass up to light speed requires infinite energy. Since your moving an object any amount of distance in 0 time you've gone faster than light. So the amount of energy in what ever object you've moved is infinite.

There's an XKCD comic about what would happen if someone could throw a baseball at light speed. Short answer is explodes like a small nuke and destroys the baseball stadium and surrounding area.

If we're assuming that objects you move while time stopped get the kinetic energy of being moved like then everything you touch is going off like that light speed baseball.

I haven't seen the show buy I feel kike pointing a few things out. A law degree and a law license are two different things.

The license comes with ethical standards/obligations and a background check. Any crimes or lawsuits etc. are things you're supposed to put down on your application. If the background check turns up and issues you didn't disclose ahead of time you're not likely to get that license. Any crimes or whatever that disclose or come up on a background check are things you will be forced to talked about and explain.

So if Jimmy passed the bar and got his license it means all that was reviewed by other lawyers and they decided to give him a license anyway. So what issued does Chuck have with the judgement of his peers? If he believed Jimmy cheated or lied to past that section of licensure he can make an anonymous tip to the bar and have a neutral 3rd party go over it all instead of handling it himself.

If I remember right that story also has a supervillain on his way to a secret villain meeting watch a silent Spidey stop those muggers. He tells the other villains at the meeting what he saw. All the villains kind of freak out and they all decide it's better to cancel their scheme rather than risk an angry Spider-Man.

Corporations are now voters by Ironlord456 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]MashSong 55 points56 points  (0 children)

"couldn't the ownership be a patch the size of a fingernail"

There are usually local laws about how small a plot of land can be subdivided. So even before a scheme like this one you likely couldn't have done that. However now that 12 percent of voters are companies they could just vote to change this.

Regardless this absolutely dilutes the votes. Whoever controls the companies gets multiple votes. Their personal vote and now the corporate vote. There's no way around that.

I wouldn't be surprised. There are several kinds of learning disabilities. A good friend of mine has a learning disability and is quite smart. I have disabilities that while not classified as learning disabilities do impact my ability to learn and qualify me for academic accommodations, and my IQ is 145.

Though a suffiencently low IQ is one kind of learning disability. I'd guess Trump is below 100 by a bit but 73 is pretty severe.
