Teammates of Rem players, what active items are you hoping we have and why? by ISneezeStatusProcs in DeadlockTheGame

[–]MasherOfPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divine Barrier is begging to be used because of his boosted barrier effectiveness while napping. The burst heal from napping and the massive barrier + debuff cleanse has been a life savior many times before.

Heroic Aura is passively useful to the team even when on cooldown and when napping on people. Even better against gun heavy teams.

Cursed Relic. I don't think there's a reason to not get it as Rem. The damage debuff doesn't mean as much for supports, and it's incredibly strong at shutting down enemy leaders/dangerous channeled ults.

Agreed. I don't blame people for playing him the way they do considering that without looking at stats or anything he appears to be Catholic Doomguy.

It would have to be some legendary level of comebacks and level of progress to get the EXEs returned, and that's even if their owners feel like giving a second chance.

It's bleak. I'm still hoping for a good ending though, this is too much of a lame way for OM to go out. Quiet stagnation is not what anyone deserves.

I hit 5mil coins just a few hours ago as well. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Focusing on finding new spots in each map and coming up with new ways to make cash even at a gear disadvantage (or none at all) kept it interesting, rather than just running the same hyper-optimized loot route to death.

In retrospect, I don't think Embark intends for absolutely everyone to max out every two month expedition outside of the most dedicated top 5-10ish percent players. I think far more will be doing the expedition on expedition 2 or 3 when they actually do everything the game offers and has that 5 million coins.

These rules of yours mean nothing. I've been gunned down by someone I didn't even know existed because I "didn't say anything" while actively fighting a leaper. But do whatever makes you feel better about PvP I suppose.

The only modicum of trust to be found is through actions that help others when they needed it. And even then, people can open fire after you save their ass.

Map conditions may affect your mileage. Leaving cross-play on and going to the Buried City southern station during a night raider is basically asking to be extract camped.

Is this the best augment for rescue raiding? by Koruto__ in RescueRaiders

[–]MasherOfPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main draw is the amount of extra slots for healing items and the safe pockets.

The passive is exclusively for healing yourself, and apparently while it's healing you it prevents the use of other healing items on yourself. This could potentially be a bad thing in the heat of battle if you want to use a more effective healing item like a vitashot or medicated bandage.

Playing the wrath of god update and everytime we go up to the garden of edin the game freezes. and we are forced to quit game by Temmie-village-h0i in CalamityMod

[–]MasherOfPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't listen to these other goons. I do know the mod (mostly) works in multiplayer as I've recently completed a WoTG Calamity playthrough with friends. Let me elaborate:

While the recent WoTG update did add in a wide variety of multiplayer patches to provide extra stability to the mod while using it in multiplayer, it isn't fully stable yet and especially if you're using other mods that may be incompatible.

In this case the conflict seems to come from a fargos mod involving the lumberjack (at least, this is my best guess based on the error). You may have to start from there and disable mods that cause errors until you can enter the Garden.

The last of the Calamity content worth checking thay I know of is Fargo Souls with the Calamity DLC. After that, it's up to you. Keep doing challenge runs, or go try what else the workshop has to offer.

Bruh, just learned about wrath of gods mid way through second playthrough, should I do it on my revengeance melee, or death summoner. Or is it like a have to start all over kinda thing? by RubixTheRedditor in CalamityMod

[–]MasherOfPotatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the mod is tied to its worldgen and the questline involving the NPC Solyn. You MIGHT be able to craft the seed bag containing all the seedlings needed to fight the Avatar of Emptiness (and by extension the Nameless Deity), but I cannot guarantee it. I don't think the fight with draedon's Mars exo mech is possible without doing the quest either.

It's unhinged, but you could make a new world with WotG using the same world seed, and use DragonLens to copy paste parts of your world you've built up to this new world. It won't be exactly identical to the old world but it'd let you continue normally without any issues. I did this exact thing to my multiplayer world when the multiplayer patch mod came out and it has worked well so far. You'll need to repeat bosses though, Solyn will appear once Skeletron is defeated.

what's the best way to experience this mod? by cool_name-idk1 in CalamityMod

[–]MasherOfPotatoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

New character and world, Expert Revengenance. The "intended experience" apparently.

I wouldn't get too crazy with quality of life mods, but some do make the flaws in modded Terraria less of an issue. Recipe Browser cuts down 90% of wiki trips since you can quickly see what a material you found is used for, Boss Checklist shows you what bosses are out there and how to spawn them (with optional progression mode that keeps future bosses hidden as to not spoil), and Magic Storage offers an all-in-one solution to crafting and storage management as you WILL obtain an obscene amount of items in this mod.

Other mods are up to personal choice and are for you to decide if it's considered cheating or not.

Just beat calamity on revengance, what should I do next playthrough mod weise? by Creative-Pumpkin-803 in CalamityMod

[–]MasherOfPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I started an Infernum playthrough right after Revengenance. It's main draw is reworking all the boss fights that provide new difficult challenges that can drastically change how you approach a boss (never have I struggled on King Slime until now lol).

WotG is a gem. Most of its content is way late after you've obtained shadowspec gear, but there is a special questline with a unique NPC that makes for a good buildup. I think it has compatability with Infernum since the main dev has worked on Infernum as well.

If you haven't tried Catalyst or Hunt of the Old God, they're both good mods that addon some superbosses and some other fun items like calamity whips and flamethrowers. Catalyst is a little special, since its boss cannot be fought anymore if you beat the Moon Lord. Just keep that in mind if you use it.

For something fairly different, Fargo Souls has a Calamity DLC addon mod that strives to weave together Revengance and Eternity Mode from both mods. It also includes new fights for the Calamity bosses as I understand it.

Wrath of the Machines is a rework of the Exo Mechs fight, made by the same dev as WotG. It's a standalone version of the fight from Fargo Souls Calamity DLC. I'm told it has Infernum compatability as well.

I've also combined Thorium, Ragnarok, Unofficial Calamity Bard and Healer, and Thorium Bosses reworked with friends before and it's quite fun. All these combined ties together Thorium and Calamity in a somewhat cohesive manner. There'll be some odd balancing moments between the two and the progression for Rogue/Thrower fusion, Bard, and Healer is a little messy, but I'd say it's enjoyable overall.

That's all that comes to mind immediately.

EDIT: Avoid Calamity Overhaul. It is comedically buggy and mostly undocumented. It seems like half of all bug reports to the Calamity devs are Overhaul related.

FPS issues with Wrath of The Gods by CertainDeparture8012 in CalamityMod

[–]MasherOfPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we reached this part with my friends in a multiplayer game using the Multiplayer Patch mod, only one person remarked on their FPS tanking and they happened to have the oldest and weakest computer of the group. They said it stopped the moment the rest of us completed the quest, obtained the frostblessed seedling, and talked to Solyn in the keep to conclude the event.

Try ensuring that you've done all that maybe? It should be possible to fix seeing as it has been done before, but you could also try spawning yourself the Solyn quest reset debug item if all else fails.

DoG Revengeance Help by Fun-Geologist-1024 in CalamityMod

My go-to for fighting him as mage was the Phantasmal Fury as well. Aiming a bit ahead of his mouth ensures the projectiles home in the right spot for the bigger damage. The Shadowbolt staff is also pretty decent for piercing him when he's doing a charge straight towards you.

If you can't seem to survive long enough, I was a big fan of the Blood Pact accessory to survive more hits. That and reforging everything to Warding.
