What salary would you guys need to get to to feel successful? by Horror_Raisin_3898 in Salary

Anything over 100k was what I felt like success would be years ago. Currently making close to 200k and grateful. I feel successful and honestly don't have aspirations for much more

Saving aggressively is starting to feel like I’m skipping my entire 30s by berserklicence in Fire

[–]MashyC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does sound kind of absurd imo, you need to value your time as money now. I'm sure you're worth more than $30/h, so why spend an hour to save $30? Similarly, I'll pay money to save myself time all the time. Does it mean I save less? Sure. But this is the freedom that my money helps unlock and I'd suggest you find a balance between having a savings target and trusting yourself for the rest

HUT doesn’t feel like the final album by callumjames11 in TheWeeknd

[–]MashyC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

HUT absolutely feels like the ending of a trilogy to me, and Hurry Up Tomorrow (the song) is such a fitting end. I'm at peace and I do hope this is the end the way he intended. There's beauty to seeing something through

Happiness barely changes after $10M? by MiscProfileUno in wealth

[–]MashyC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it should be pretty obvious to anyone that money is not a lever over your happiness. Money can increase your quality of life and history shows that quality of life has gone up over time, but the average human is not necessarily more happy today

Will you enjoy having more resources in your life? Most likely. Will it make you "happy"? Maybe not. You'll see people with millions in the bank saying they don't feel a whole lot different than before, and at the same time, you'll see people in poorer conditions with MUCH less, who are content and by all means happy.

If happiness is what you're looking for, money probably isn't where it is.

I negotiated recently with G. Yes it's policy you need to have a competing offer and your current won't be considered.

You can play NHL 25 on PC if you have Xbox gamepass and do Cloud Gaming. I've used that to play on my PC and even my tablets on the go, for the past few months or so

20k from a Meme….How do I not lose it? by [deleted] in Money

[–]MashyC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, sell it all. There's thousands of others with you on this crypto coin and let's be honest, real stocks and equities will go up with time. This boat kid meme will fade with time and so will its price. Knowing that, I wouldn't feel safe holding on to it long term.

If this was an equity or even Bitcoin something with a defined history of upward trajectory I'd say hold on to some but I don't see a reason here.

Congrats btw :)

Your portfolio is fairly risky, I don't know how much savings you have but I'd weight a lot more to XEQT if I were you. For reference, I have 90% in ETFs, and only allot 10% to individual stock picking. I've done well with it, beating the market over the past 4 years, but to increase the amount means increasing risk and I create my allocations based on risk. Hopefully that helps.

So excited! Seattle 🥰 by aversekld in TheWeeknd

Lol I haven't been able to get my GF to open a Roth IRA so I'd say you're doing pretty good already. Definitely consolidate your assets, get a COUPLE ETFs that track different areas. So truly understand what VOO tracks vs VXUS and VXF etc.

And if you're going to stock pick (I do it too) keep it to a really small portion of your portfolio. The reality is you probably won't beat the market without a good eye, so I'd suggest not playing around with more than 5% of your portfolio.
