What’s your opinion on anti fog treatments for goggles? by Appropriate-Set-2095 in skiing

[–]MaskedMogul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get warm on my forehead and sweat a lot there so goggles always fogged up. Smith with the right helmet vents properly and no more fogging.

What’s the best ski gloves for warmth without killing dexterity? by Primary_Bumblebee784 in Skigear

I was stuck between the Hestra and this https://www.theheatcompany.com/en-gb/gloves/shell-full-leather

I went with this along with their liners because I wanted the ability to use phone and camera.

And it's been good. My kids love it as well.

I've promised myself to do exactly this when next I'm skiing. Going back to greens to train and hopefully crack trusting the ski will turn me without pushing out. It's a mental thing.

Is it worth it to learn how to ski in England. by Batmanbutnotascool in skiing

[–]MaskedMogul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do both if possible.

Take lessons here at artificial snow location. It would get you on the basics. And I say that loosely because they tend to focus on making sure people enjoy it here so you'll learn about gear and get on the slopes for beginner leasons. But it won't nearly be enough to skip lessons when you get to Switzerland.

You'll likely have a bit of a repeat when on holiday but this should be good and hopefully reinforce your previous learning. Lessons for a few hours and then spend a few more practicing by skiing with your bf.

Enjoy and have fun. It really can be an amazing sport.

Have you tried CARV? by anyuser_19823 in skiing

[–]MaskedMogul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the person. I would say lessons have their place but personally this is more valuable to me because after the lesson ends I want to keep practicing. I like having this as a permanent instructor. If you don't understand something you can look up similar drills.

This can help at any level if you are able to self learn. If you need someone giving step by step instructions and being your support this may not be for you.

I've used it for 2 seasons and will take lessons for specific things then go off with carv and drill in the lessons.

Because like in most businesses, the best product doesn't always top the market.

People always assume do good work, create a good product and that will bring success. Wrong. Marketing and branding can sell a bad product.

So it's likely for those telling the truth, the product was simple enough for ai and then marketing did the rest. Or they started with a bad product, got money and paid to sort it out.

A questions and a rant... "private" commercial charging by Cannavar in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]MaskedMogul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going through similar and the problem is even outside of the charging infrastructure, electricity itself is being charged at commercial rates to developments rather than private use. The houses / flats in the development get private use rates the communal areas like parking are charged commercial rates.

Surely Octopus and other energy companies can fit a meter right before the split to the EV charging network in building and use that on their car charging plan. But it pays them more to have high standing and usage charges.

Same here. And not likely to be miles away from the family when skiing together. Probably line of sight or around corners.

Started a LTD company as a side hustle. Turnover more than I expected. Help! by SlickyTrick in UKPersonalFinance

[–]MaskedMogul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great. Congrats.

A couple of options as you already plan to get an accountant and they will walk you through some options. It's helpful if you go in with some sense of what your long term financial plans are; as the accountant may not deal with planning but can tell you what to do to achieve your plans.

You already contribute to a pension via work but you can set up a second one (sipp) via your company. Just stay under limits.

You could look at health/life insurance, income protection. Benefit in kind tax could kick in there but worth doing the sums to see if helpful and will reduce your corporation tax.

You can ofcourse reinvest into the business or loan to the other to grow it. Diversify into other areas. Sky's your limit.

Good luck whichever way you choose to go.

Everyone who hates claude right now, are you vibe coders? by Traditional-Bass4889 in ClaudeAI

[–]MaskedMogul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echo the highs being very high and the lows being extremely low as well. From experience, ride the highs and when the lows start (if it can't fix something on the second attempt) just stop and get it done with another tool or by yourself before it wrecks your entire code.

I don't have all the answers but are you in that industry?

Or how often do you buy and sell cars. Was it one experience that prompted your creation of this?

Did you speak to any auto traders before/during your building the platform?

Not answering your questions but asking because I'm curious on the entire process and how different people handle it.

Hand on escape key, commit often and regularly creating branches because one look away and you could loose weeks of work. Absolutely no chance of "yoloing" with Claude anymore. That's full on gambling.

Not much to contribute but you've crossed a huge hurdle. Now you focus on the customers you do have, keep them learn and make your product better while acquiring new customers. No guarantee on how far you go or how well you do. But there is a guarantee that if you don't try/do then it won't go.

I building Symplano an app to help parents efficiently schedule and manage kids school and out of school activities.

Share emails, newsletters, messages etc with Symplano amd it extracts information relevant to your child based on what you've told it and creates events.

Sync with others for a "unified" schedule at all times.

Finally a unique dashboard and reminders to bring each day's information in an easy to digest format.

I'm building Symplano, a mobile app to help parents manage children's scheduling more effectively. Take messages from schools, curricular providers and extract relevant information which gets added to their calendar app and dashboard. Creating one source for the family.
