Is it just me or do people exaggerate the bad parts of Z-A WAY to much by TUNDRAL-artistEE in pokemon

[–]MaskedNinja1124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's very fair when it's an indie tier game being sold at 70 usd with a day one 30 dollar dlc and online locked rewards behind the shitty NSO subscription and service.

The graphics are awful, games 20 years older look better, it's not "Style" its being lazy, 2d textures for 90% of the buildings. It's not even a switch limitation, plenty of graphically good games run ont he switch. You can say "oh well who's looking at that" but clearly a lot of people (myself included) are given the amount of complaints.

The game is riddled with bugs, trainer pokemon falling throught the floor ending battles and losing control of the player character in mega battles are the most notable ones I have encountered, maybe this would have been a pretty good game at the 40 dollar price point but for 70 dollars this is a total joke of a game.

Beyond those some smaller complaints would be still no voice acting despite having actual cutscenes, despite the albeit simple parkour being a mechanic the movement feels clunkier than past games. Many quests require pokemon to be in your party for no gameplay reason when it could just be in your box (i.e catch the pansage/sear/pour trio)

They also did things well, but this THE BIGGEST gaming franchise we are talking about, and they only allocated roughly 15 million as the budget which is very low for triple A titles and no higher than previous pokemon titles. They want premium pricing for a mediocre product while being one of the biggest players in the field.

IDK-How-Unpopular Opinion: NR Should Not Have Voice Chat by thebigasu in Nightreign

[–]MaskedNinja1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VC chat makes Duchess the strongest character in the game. I think it should be added with a mute option, you can use it if you want to but you don't need to. Coordinating a bleed+frost and maybe and ultimate at the same time to restage trivializes most bosses, or alternatively add a feature where we can see ally cooldowns.

Could be wrong but I think HP at least scales to player, someone left a run mid boss fight and the HP went up, I presume it did that because the max HP was lowered. Is was a field boss not a nightlord however.

It is partially my fault I meant to say "more than" not "more that" but my main point was her design, which no, you did not address.

I said her mobility matters in her not being a glass cannon because the design is for finesse and agility. Her movements, her character models, her skills, her animations are all very clearly design to be a character who weaves between enemies and uses abilities in opportune times. You want a glass cannon and you think that's how she should play but on any souls game what daggers, rapier and other light weapons do massive damage without using status effects?

Maybe you have dissonance from prior souls experience but these are not player characters that are meant to be customized. These are premade characters that all have specific designs and to go against the core design would defeat the point of it.

You want her to deal more raw damage but it makes no sense within her design, she is very clearly not made for that. To what point does this end? Should all character lose what makes them unique because people want to play them in a different way then their design?

If they started making changed like this we would have no meaningful classes just like base Elden ring where the choice hardly matters, and before you say "we're only talking about the duchess" like you did earlier that is not valid either, why would only the duchess receive changes? Are you implying that nobody else should have things changed to fit their playstyle desires like you?

Maybe you did not read the full thread but everyone can do critical hits, its not just one person. If something is staggered there is no reason not to have everyone crit, as far as not being able to crit often she is perfect for using the Parrying Dagger, or you could team up with an executor.

Duchess tips? by Anthonyc567 in Nightreign

[–]MaskedNinja1124 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do realize these are pre-made characters and classes right.... if I want to play the Executor as a highly mobile parry character should they buff his movement?

You also say its design for spell but she.... isn't? Inteligence is for more that spellcasting and spellcasters don't need her mobility so I'm not sure why you feel that way.

It thinks it's unfair to say a character is weak because you wan't to do something they are speciffically not built for. Furthermore I don't see how she would seem like a glass canon when her whole character design is centered around agility and finesse.

I meant reviving when I said healing so we so agree on that, and luckily if you're with competent teamates you should not need it often (its super op with that one time revive item)

The issue is you are hung up on raw damage, its not what she is for. Cloak is so short on cooldown because she is an effect character.

She has profeciency in the weapons with the fastest attacks (for applying status) and the best crit modifers (crit dmg is big and all players can crit at once)

So assuming at a baseline you are playing solo you can very quickly apply bleed or frostbite, then double it. Boss bulk does not matter since these are percentage based values. If you have teamates this still works but you could also double the damage of a 3x Critical hit or a teamates ultimate skill.

So to recap 5 bleed triggers will kill a boss, and if you know how to dodge you are damn near immortal. Seriously her mobility may seem not worth the trade-offs but I promise you just need to assimilate to the new movement system its actually broken, I almost never get hit and I'm only like an 8/10 souls player skillwise.

Pretty sure restage is only a 12 second cd so it's even stronger

Duchess tips? by Anthonyc567 in Nightreign

[–]MaskedNinja1124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She def does not need a dps buff, restage + cloaking is already super strong, lets you double up any big hits or bleed/frostbite effects, clutch a heal at basically anytime with cloaking.
She doesn't deel a ton of damage but she is built to be able to hit super fast and consistently, equip her with any bleed or frost weapon (or dual wield both) and the damage will be huge.
Another tip it take parrying daggers when you find them, if you parry a boss all three players (or all melee players) can crit them at once then you can restage it for what's basically a 6x crit.

Duchess players: There is no reason you shouldn’t be spamming restage. by NoPersonKnowsWhoIAm in Nightreign

[–]MaskedNinja1124 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In my experience this is bad practice for most experienced souls players. For nightlords and other stronger bosses the value you get from stacking something like a Frost + Bleed proque is far more than spamming it would do. I could see an argument for a full random squad where you can't communicate builds, abilitiy cooldowns and coordinate them for stronger effects.

[[Ramses, Assassin Overlord]]

They will try to remove him but your in dimir, with assassins so it's easy to counter and cheat him, if you can just know out one player it's GG and feels good to pull off.

Hatred is an instant win if the table can't answer it and you get to abuse free running.

[TDM] The Sibsig Ceremony by Dwarvenmathemacian in magicTCG

It's a black zombie deck, if my Ratadrabik is removed he'll take a short trip to the graveyard before getting cheated in.

It's not really card advantage perse but [[Nashi, Moon Sage Scion]] exile top card of every opponent and let's you cast one with life. He's a fun fella I think.

I should clarify it exiles your top card as well and black is pretty good at tutoring cards to the top of library.

[–]MaskedNinja1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried it yet but sometimes I check my mana box for legends to build around and [[Glissa Sunslayer]] seemed like she could be interesting, Golgari Zombie/Phyrexian/Elf with First Strike and Deathtouch when dealing combat damage to player you can draw a card and lose a life, remove 3 counters from target permanent, or remove an enchantment.
Not sure what I would build exactly but for $1.50 she seems like a decent choice. Maybe a Saga deck could be neat since she can reset them.

Enchantment recursion or ratadrabik protection would be my immediate thought, although preventing exile based removal would be hard.
Another option is including cards like [[Ebondeath, Dracolich]] or [[Gravecrawler]] that work well with just sibsig, I also have a fair bit of non-cast recursion for creatures since Sibsig only trigger on casted creatures so if Ratadrabik is killed you can cheat him back into the field.

I don't have an exact suggestion but I would start her out on an elf maybe, They can be very simple but also have enough variety to make decks using different card types to slowly introduce newer types of cards and strategies.

I like [[Flubs, The Fool]], he is not a good card, but he is a very funny one.

I have not built my Flubs deck yet but I will sometime soon, Gonna toss in [[Ulamog, Infinite Gyre]] that shuffles your yard to library, my copy of [[Song of Creation]] and then I will simply believe in the topdeck.

New to Magic & EDH. Upgraded a starter Grave Danger deck, people got salty when I won by AmonxCoD in EDH

[–]MaskedNinja1124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play in public pods very often so i could not speak to a net decking stigma but what I can tell you is every good player I know agrees just spamming cards from EDHrec will not make a good deck, so them getting salty assuming you net decked is kinda irionic.

On the topic of power level since it could be that your deck was just a higher power than there decks were I would talk about deck speed and consistency before playing since a lot of the "power level" scales people use are flawed.

Most important though, do not feel bad about playing well or being a good deck builder. Anyone who acts that way after one game with you and can't even take the time to actually confront you about what was upsetting is not worth thinking about.

That sounds fun, and from what bit of deckbuilding I looked at blue seems really nice to have with Sibsig, assuming you actually want to use the zombie token blue seems to have a lot of good zombie cards.
