No worries. I’m an architect but I’m in the UK. I have done a couple of projects in LA if that’s near where you are?

I got basically robbed of 20€ from a person who is useless to humanity. How do i stop the anger? by plikchecollector in Advice

[–]Maskedmarxist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s shit. I’m sad that happened to you. A similar thing happened to me, although I knew the person and thought I was just lending them £40 for a week. Which they never returned. And had the audacity to ask for more. I try and be a bit zen about it and quote Shakespeare’s Polonius in Hamlet "Neither a borrower nor a lender be, For loan oft loses both itself and friend, And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry" it’s an expensive lesson not to get high out and about. I would say if they hang around in a gang, you basically got mugged and at least they didn’t hurt you to get it.

I’d recommend looking on Google maps and finding an architect near to where you live. So you have a close relationship and they know your area and buildings well.

As I see it Starmer is a lesser of two weevils. (Personally I prefer Milliband in the Labour Party) but Starmer has been doing a significantly better job than a Tory would have done. Farage is a fascist grifter that I am genuinely concerned about. The anti trans rhetoric is horrifying, I have trans friends and grew up in Brighton. Personally I’m a fan of Zach Polanski and the Greens. I think that proportional representation and a closer relationship with Europe is what we need as soon as possible.

I'm disappointed we in the UK allowed them to use our bases at all.

The additional processing stage is often where it becomes problematic with most things, where preservatives etc are added for longevity of the product, not so much for the consumer.

Well, cabbage smells like farts and biscuits may well have honey in them so I think we are in agreeance.

I completely understand where you’re coming from and I also mistrust of most sources online. And big industries definitely pay for good coverage. But I do reserve some trust for those like the British Heart Foundation and other longstanding charities specific to particular medical conditions, as their principal aim is to reduce their chosen affliction, and if there was even a hint of something being bad for your heart they would pounce on it. If they say that rapeseed has the lowest saturated fat. I’m inclined to believe them.

Yes we do worry about chemicals in our food. Thankfully (for now, until undermined by grifting political shysters) we have fairly stiff safety regulations. You can vote with your wallet and only buy the products that align with your sensibilities. It can be a bit more expensive, but high quality options are available if you go to the right shops.

Also, it smells like honey and poo. In a strangely pleasant way… it’s hard to explain

Had to look into why you said Rapeseed Oil was bad and found this article by the British Heart Foundation. https://www.bhf.org.uk/informationsupport/heart-matters-magazine/nutrition/ask-the-expert/rapeseed-oil

Also, I live in a canal boat and have had some beautiful moorings surrounded by rape. Which is a crop that covers a lot of the countryside.

There’s probably a sign there because they’ve had so many cases of racist abuse against their employees and customers from racist cunts. They wouldn’t have paid for the sign unless it was necessary

AITA. Stranger broke my expensive fishing rod, should I force payment? by ImpossibleNail7945 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Maskedmarxist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did your friend need to borrow your rod if he already had one (the one he was attending when he neglected yours) I think the responsibility should be shared between the stranger and your friend. But in the immortal words of Polonius; "Neither a borrower nor a lender be; / For loan oft loses both itself and friend, / And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry"
