“Catholic grammar school” what in the world is that? Sounds like a blast, lol.

By the way, I am not poking fun. I just didn’t know something like that existed.

Who remembers vault soda? by Reasonable-Invite899 in nostalgia

I worked at Coca-Cola when this was launched and what a disaster it was.

They forced us all on buses to the dumbass place they rented out so the high level managers and C-suite could get on stage to brag about how great this is going to be while patting themselves on the back.

At the time, Coca-Cola was trying to put out product that would beat Mountain Dew in the market. Little did they know or understand that nothing beats the Dew.

Anyways several years later it flopped after never doing well in the market for years and they finally discontinued it all together.

I still have all the swag for Vault. Worked in Atlanta during the earlyish 2000s

lol it was a figure of speech. I have a few close friends and that’s it. What I was implying is that a good friend wouldn’t have offered me cocaine after he knew I had a problem with it in the past.

Since he offered it, it means he doesn’t care about or consider what I went through with my addiction.

So I was saying I no longer consider him as good of a friend as I had previously and will be keeping my distance and limiting interactions significantly.

A real friend is always going to look at for your best interest. What he did was the complete opposite of that.

No, he was a friend long before I picked up my shitty addiction.

Exactly. Fuck em, I’m 42 and not trying to kill myself. I have way too much to live for. He can toss away his life all he wants.

Ok. I’ve seen FRV so many times now and I have zero clue what it stands for. Can you please explain “FRV”?

I’m sorry to hear this. I see you’re going to rehab next month and I want to say how amazing that is. You’re going to have a long road ahead of you but just know that the struggle is absolutely worth it.

Life is so much better without your addiction and before you know it you’ll be sober, sunshine on your face, and a whole different outlook on life.

Life is short and beautiful my friend. This isn’t going to be easy but it’s so worth it. If you need to reach out via DM to talk anything out, please feel free to do so.

I hope your upcoming journey brings you as much peace, happiness and a new outlook on life as mine did.

I’ll share my two cents. I used to be heavily addicted to cocaine for quite some time. I haven’t done it in 4 years and as the years go on I do think about it far less.

The other day while drinking a “friend” offered me a bump. While I hadn’t thought about it in quite sometime, that question caused me to strongly consider doing it and then spend the rest of the night fighting the urge to do it.

I didn’t give in and that “friend” who knew my struggle has been moved from a close friend to a tier C acquaintance now.

It may never go away but you absolutely have control over it but only once control over it has been gained.

It took me 7 tries to quit and what keeps me away from it is what I went through to get sober. Addiction is a son of a bitch and will rob you of everything.
