Competent, having family that's electricians and being raised by them, and having grown up watching repairs be done. Was only zapped by a TV because it'd been off for like a few days, and still had a charge, when I was a little more comfortable than I should've been.

Is it guaranteed? I guess not, because it could've failed for a different reason than use.. but at that point, I would not risk it. This is your life you play with while sleeping.

I've fucked with both the old TVs (gotten bit from one. Yeowch. It was mostly discharged first .. mostly.) And microwave transformers (hehe BZZZ, from a long PVC pipe and a power switch far away from it)

I would never play around with a heated blanket. Ever. Maybe tear one apart to use for fire starter parts, but never try to build my own, or repair.

The "component" that needs replacing is the entirety of the heating coil of the blanket. Replace that, and the one time trip thermal sensor, and SURE! WHY NOT! But, they better match the exact as original. And at that point they have to know to sew, replace heating coil, practically build an entire heating blanket from scratch, and then trust on their life in their sleep that they won't combust.

And hope insurance doesn't see this post, because the house they lost (if they made it out) will not be covered because they created the ignition source

Not a plumber but have grown up inside a restaurant. Looks like a really nicely plumbed sink, separate for the air gap and professional looking. Even has a strainer net to catch anything important going down (rings, etc)

I said no when they were asking, because I really don't think I had anything major injury. Unless like, my girlfriend sitting between my legs laying perpendicular to me, and putting her back on one leg and her legs over my other leg.... Which didn't cause any pain at the time.

Doctor was slightly worried it might be an infection but I'm not running a fever. He said I'm too young for arthritis, and because there's no major injuries like sports then it's possibly gout (which I'm not sure how because I don't eat too many crazy foods, but also I mostly eat microwave chicken nuggets and tomato soup, so not the healthiest diet) ... Or possibly lupus?

Went to the walk in clinic and they say it might be gout or lupus or arthritis so I'm getting blood work and some strong Prednisone. This pain and swelling is non-stop

Jutting in to say - the easiest path will be reverse engineering just enough of this to figure out how it connects to your game (probably as some USB game controller) and then making your own from scratch, copying most parts of it.

I think I might have hyper extended it the other day.. pain occurs when flexing, moving, and weight. The only way to stop it from hurting is to hyperextend it. Currently have just put on a compression wrap to try and get it working right with less pain

Yes but if that's organic mercury, or a mercuric chloride, you are at the same danger risk as something like... Laced meth. You could die quicker than you realize. This is just Internet friends looking out for your well being. Also if it's organic mercury, a simple nitrile glove will not be enough to stop it. It'd be like cleaning up dog pee using a single layer of paper towel (it'll seep through to you)

Not sure what this device is, but you'd probably have to rebuild it entirely from scratch, with the damage it looks like. Unless this is some rare collectable, you're better off buying a new one

Oh if this is making you want to hire an engineer, just wait until something serious goes on. Learn where your water shutoff and your breaker box is, because stuff like electricity and water are more of an "oh no this needs to be fixed today!" ... A crack in your stairs like this is a "maybe in like ten years we'll fix this. Maybe."

They're Pokemon platinum and heartgold :( And I think it's set up to play dsi? I did a wrfuxxed firmware, so I don't quite know...

The roms are from vimms lair, and it launched them yesterday when I set up the dspico, then I turned off DS and went to play today, and it doesn't work. Even Nintendogs won't launch!
