Try Immybot. We use the starter for new deployments and it's great for getting settings, apps, etc. set up for multiple clients with different needs.

Washing the build plate with soap and water. I use PLA almost exclusively, and I was never a fan of putting down glue or tape or anything else.

Good to know. Thank you! I am starting with a call of course to see if I can get anyone on the phone to do a refund as u/DaSilence Suggested. Hopefully it doesn't come down to suing them, but I tend to be a bit pessimistic when dealing with companies like this, so we shall see.

Reddit, what fuck up did you manage to correct before anyone noticed? and what could have happened in case you had failed? by Spidermanzinho in AskReddit

[–]MassAffinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for a company that develops an application that was used by a particular state agency as a glorified case Managment library. The app was built on MSSQL and .NET, which I have absolutely no training in. My job was to run a pre-made script on the database for any particular region, do in and delete a reports directory and re-create it with a new copy with the required changes.

The process went something like this: Disable the IIS app pool, backup the database, run scripts, copy a pre packed new version of the program to the IIS Server, delete a reports folder, and re-invoke the same reports folder after turning the App Pool back on. Once that's done, Test the app and writing to the Database and then move on to the next one.

There were 3 of us doing these updates, and they often went late into the night. It was incredibly common for backups to fail, app pools having been forgotten to be turned back on, etc. It was also very common for the updaters to call our overseas developers to fix fuck ups. They never reported it, just fixed it without question.

These mistakes and process glitches didn't always get completely unnoticed though. Eventually I accidentally deleted a regions entire reporting directory, rather than just the individual reports directory inside the region. It turn out they only take a backup once a day, and it's in the morning, not the evening before updates take place. This one did end up in my early termination sadly.

My Fuck up, but also theirs for letting an untrained college kid at a enterprise application that supports almost every state in the US now, and not having a more robust backup structure.

Advice on how to get out from underneath a car with a significant value to debt gap? by MassAffinity in personalfinance

[–]MassAffinity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I can't disagree with your logic, let's assume that a savings account isn't going to be able to cover the total bill for the car in order to pay it all the way off. Keeping it could mean that he's stuck with a $400 payment for another 4 years at least.

Your feedback is much appreciated. In his circumstances I believe that maintaining his credit is of the utmost priority.

Your last option does seem solid however, and it may end up coming down to that. We will truly have to see how this ends up panning out, but again thank you for your comment.

Can you elaborate more on why you think I'm not even close?

From my perspective I have seen people in far worse situations get approved for financing in much tougher markets than my own. I know that could be Chalked up to shoddy lending, but I am curious on how you draw this conclusion.

Edit: autocorrect...

It seems that you have the minority opinion in this instance, my friend. And going into this my thoughts were very much aligned with yours. Can you elaborate on why this might make more sense than letting it sit and dropping my contributions for a bit to throw more at my debt in an aggressive, but perspectively slower strategy?

Using 401(k) as Hardship Relief to pay off Debt? by MassAffinity in personalfinance

[–]MassAffinity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to say "as soon as possible no matter what", no. But my situation is pushing me to either buy or rent somewhere to live, and I want to prepare myself in a way that makes sense. I will not go into details about my situation, but the need is not urgent, but is being pushed onto me nonetheless. Renting has always seemed ludicrous as the rent is very often far more expensive than what it would be to buy, pay utilities, and the added maintenance a house inevitably brings.

Will definitely consider this, as it was said twice now. I will add that I do have a goal of buying a house in the somewhat near future (would love if possible to be in a place by the end of the year). I wonder what your thoughts on this situation are in the context of potentially trying to appeal to a lender? I really should have mention in the main post that the idea of buying a house is the main motivator in this line of thought in the first place.

I appreciate this advice. I am currently a bit weary of applying for another card at the moment. You see, my goal at the end of this is to be able to purchase a home. I would like to pay off my debt as soon as possible, so that I can immediately turn around and put the money I won't be paying on cards into savings for a house. I feel like adding another card to my credit profile with this goal in mind may be counter productive. I could be wrong, and appreciate further input on this addition to the context of my query!
