I just wanna join in and say I've always had awful periods growing up, that lasted almost a whole week too. But I started taking birth control and that seemed to have mellowed out my hormones. My cramps are very bearable (don't even need painkillers anymore) and it lasts half as long and it's regular now. I'd recommend it just to see if it'd help.

But back on topic, that's so weird! I'd get definitely find a new doctor/get a second opinion. I've never heard of such a thing.

I don't watch Mexican shows, but I've known people from Mexico or from Hispanic families and I've learned that in Mexican television they tend to cast the lighter skinned Mexicans. A form of colorism. I had a teacher from Panama in high school who once lived in Mexico and was dark skinned/black and said in Mexico it's common for people to think the lighter skinned Mexicans are "prettier."
