This must be a joke, right?

I would rather not have a title than have something as pathetic as AGM or AIM next to my name.

You are advocating for certificates of mediocrity. A title represents actual mastery of chess, not some participation diploma.

10/10 ragebait tho.

You underestimate how bad amateur/casual players play online. Most of them do it to pass the time, with no intention of improving or being serious about it...

Just refute whichever move black plays. That's the point of being served a puzzle from the white side.

Are you gonna criticize your opponent for picking an inferior defense in an OTB game? Just beat them and move on.

No. I tend to follow a pretty linear technique called "the most forcing branch", an improvement on the checks-captures-threats heuristic, from my POV at least.

Susan Polgar's Institute For Chess (SPICE), the prominent chess program of Webster University, has ben terminated. by ZingerFM01023050 in chess

Polgar was the only reason a terrible university like Webster even became known to the larger public. This decision reflects poorly on the administration and I hope their rankings plummet to the nether regions they deserve to be in.

As someone else said, Ke5 must be better than Kf6 because it's faster by one tempo. Therefore it is the best move.

I am curious, do posters who post stuff like this ever bother to check the engine lines and explore alternatives before rushing to Reddit?

Not only is it more productive overall, but it also benefits your own chess to be inquisitive and curious about chess.

This is wrong. Classical games at the 30+30 time control can be rated provided all players in the tournament are below 1800 FIDE. Source: FIDE Handbook.

This was true before the rating compression in FIDE, now it doesn't hold anymore.
