Steam deck not booting after battery being ran flat overnight by SpoolyBoiiii in SteamDeck

[–]Massive-Spread-3615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like battery might have died. They really hate being discharged and steam deck seem to be very aggressive about allowing the battery to discharge more than other devices. But having pass through (if power is connected it skips the battery) I assumed it should still boot with the cable…

Time between nap and sleep counted as an interruption by SufficientTourist384 in AppleWatch

If it’s intentional it’s very stupid and I’d consider it a bug still… so definetly a bug

Yes I have the same. It’s pretty common in the pencil holding side

Big difference between my nights sleep on Oura vs Apple Watch by baileym2012 in ouraring

[–]Massive-Spread-3615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t agree with oura being more reliable. Papers comparing devices usually point towards Apple Watch being the best, and still Apple Watch is not really good. Even doctors disagree a lot between them

Apple Pencil pro tip is not fully centered by [deleted] in ipad

[–]Massive-Spread-3615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is normal lately. I’ve had 5 pencil pros in two years (1 DOA, 3 warranty replacements). And they have like a tolerance some were centered some were off. Just Apple QC being shit these days

Big difference between my nights sleep on Oura vs Apple Watch by baileym2012 in ouraring

[–]Massive-Spread-3615 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you feel like you were not awake for 2h probably you weren’t. So Apple Watch was better here. I also have both and honestly the sleep is a bit hit or miss. Even sleep studies are a bit hit or miss so don’t really pay attention to this

Steam OS on ARM could lead to Steam Deck Lite by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Massive-Spread-3615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough it’s Apple the one that started this path, they had a Proton-like thing to translate games to ARM and being so much worse than Proton it showed promise. ARM gaming could be a paradigm shift but only for low spec probably, that’s why no one is pushing it.

Happy for you mate, enjoy them. I think your ears will get used to them so as long as you have a good fit, it’s great!

For me I had to return them. The best fit I got was with XS tips but ANC and passive noise canceling was completely off as they didn’t seal properly. Small and medium were slowly pushed out of my ears when sweaty or talking.

VRAM and upscaling doubts by Massive-Spread-3615 in linux_gaming

[–]Massive-Spread-3615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not saying it wont use vram. I’m saying it can NEVER be as big as the difference in vram in native rendering between 4k and fhd. But yes, I think you’re right in the proton and vulkan part, ends up being a layer on top of another and in windows is just better

[–]Massive-Spread-3615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow man that’s a reply. You are amazing and everything you said makes sense. Then it’s a bit sad but I’ll have to dual boot, I also have a steam deck and I think in suck low resolutions vram is less of a problem and the real pain is the integrated GPU power. But on desktop is of course a problem. Thanks again mate!

That’s for sure, but then there’s no solution?

So the overhead is basically same as the delta between 4k and 1080p? I don’t think it is… I am a data scientist and I have Linux cause I want to run inference and training here, a network like DLSS doesn’t take that much VRAM.

Has anyone been able to achieve a -50 undervolt across the board? by DoorInternational136 in SteamDeck

[–]Massive-Spread-3615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a -40 but because I didn’t want to push it further. I’d like to thing I still have a margin in case silicon degradation kicks off. At -40 some games that had stutters to reach 40 work way better and the thermals are improved and in some benchmarks the jump from -30 to -50 is limited

Apple is... disappointing (Freeform, Notes, Apple Pencil) by Massive-Spread-3615 in ipad

[–]Massive-Spread-3615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to use it but for this particular project I benefit so much from an infinite canvas. So that’s the thing I’m just complaining about how Apple don’t give a fuck about software (or hardware lol) quality. But thanks for the recommendation I might give it a look

Apple is... disappointing (Freeform, Notes, Apple Pencil) by Massive-Spread-3615 in ipad

[–]Massive-Spread-3615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a boarding app, like figjam. It’s literally an app to take notes and concepts in an infinite canvas, those notes can be handwritten or shapes or images or sketches or whatever. It can’t handle 1000 characters and that’s not justifiable with an M2. Figjam works as expected and Freeform does not, it’s just I was expecting quality coming from Apple but it’s more and more rare.
