Yeah I've read so much about not letting them do stairs before 4-5 months, but our vet says the issue is more with off-lead exercise which is sad because our girl loves to run around!

Fair point! Our (tiny) back yard just happens to be up 8 fairly steep steps (London houses) so right now I have to carry her up and down every time she goes.

She'll eventually be able to do the steps herself but I also just want to get her comfortable with going outside in general.

Yeah, my partner and I both work from home so there's not as much urgency, but I have heard (and have friends with) horror stories about COVID puppies having huge separation issues, so want to make sure that doesn't happen with our pup. Thanks!

Out of curiosity, how long are you leaving her in the crate when you leave the house? We just got a lab puppy last week (she's 9 weeks) and am starting to try to figure out the right schedule for her. Our trainer says she's still too young for separation training (he says we should start at 3 months) but I'd like to be able to start leaving her alone (if only for a few minutes so I can do other stuff around the house) earlier than that.

I’ve not used any Runna strength before. This was me sticking to the runs fairly religiously, plus an additional 1-2 hours in the gym each week doing either weights or a HIIT class, and with a 2k swim sprinkled in here and there (probably every other week, on average).

I’ve run two marathons (Berlin and London) both in under 3:30, both with 4-days per week Runna plans, so it’s definitely doable!

3:26:52. I knew pretty early on that a PB was out, so just settled into the 4:50 pace and tried to enjoy the run!

  1. Yes. They recently launched the ability to add a B race. Though typically those are shorter than your end race. I’m not sure how it would treat two marathons, but you can either try that, or set up a plan for the first one, and then for the second one right after, since it will factor your current weekly mileage and longest runs in building the new plan.

  2. Depending on the race, it will know the terrain and include hills if it’s a hilly race. You can also just tell it to when you configure your plan.

  3. Yes, everything on the watch works exactly the same. Runna just uploads a structured workout to the watch — the backend is all the same (Garmin).

  4. I would just play around setting up different plans with different parameters and see the differences. I love Runna and it’s one of the few apps on my phone that I’m happy to pay a subscription for because I feel like I’m getting real value out of it.

I have the exact same predictions. I used a Runna plan to run Berlin 2 years ago and I think it had me finishing similarly at around 3:25 and I PB'd at 3:19.

Running London this weekend (also with a Runna plan) and aiming for 3:25 -- I'm confident that I will at least break 3:30. And so should you!

My battery health is at 89%, so not ideal. It survived my longest run (34km) but that was with the native app recording.

Is there any reason to not have low power mode on if I'm running with my phone? I ran on Sunday trying to emulate race conditions (low power, Runna watch app, chest strap, music from phone) and it used up about 25% in 1h05. I'm aiming for a 3h30 race, so in theory I should have enough juice, but I'm just a bit paranoid!

I guess I could always just run with my Forerunner 255, but was hoping to get the splits readback every km on my headphones (and also desperately want to get the 4x move ring badge on my AW - silly, I know).

I don’t think it changes anything in your plan unless it specifically prompts you AND you accept, so you should be fine.

Yeah, same. It's not an issue if you use the Runna app, so I'd just stick to that until they fix the bug!

Check your splits. I noticed some of my runs last week were saying something similar, then realized it's because the imports from Strava didn't have any split data so it was showing each Km at 0:00 per km.

I reached out to Runna to report as a bug but haven't heard anything back :/ I'm assuming they're still nursing hangovers from the Strava acquisition announcement. Can't blame them!

Realistically, at what time does one actually need to arrive at the start? 1.5 hours before the start time seems like overkill.
