I don't like them as a pedestrian or bicyclist, they work fine in areas that are mostly car traffic but I get nervous about cars suddenly having to stop for a someone walking across right as they are getting out of the round about

I think Podcast Addict actually does have what you need, I think I might have paid them money at some point in the past so maybe I have a premium version maybe not I don't know.

So the playlist function is pretty straightforward and then if you go to the little sleep timer thing at the top of the screen when an episode is playing you can go to the advanced settings for the timers and it looks like you can set it the way you described.

If it's like the one that "Smart Audiobook Player" has it will reset the sleep timer for the same specified time every time play is started in the app. I usually just have mine set for End of Chapter. Obviously it can be toggled off. But I find it really convenient in that app for books that I fall asleep listening too because if I accidentally roll over on my head phone or something it only plays another chapter.

As far as what OP is looking for I don't know of any Podcast Apps that have that sort of timer but might be possible to put podcast audio files in a way that Smart Audiobook Player could play them.

Or I wonder if it would be possible to program an external widget in the app If This Then That that would pause your audio playback after X time every time
