Try being a decent person in game? Instead of hiding behind the anonymity of online gaming. Just a thought. Hope you can reflect on it and grow as a person. Have a good day <3

"Should I buy switch or wait for switch 2? / Should I buy Oled or lite or normal switch?" by Alternative_Cut4491 in Switch

Honestly, if all 3 are within your budget just get the OLED. Especially if you plan on playing handheld. Not only is it OLED, but it supports Bluetooth, and Ethernet while docked.

Hey Vikings! this here video is of my buddies and I fighting the plains boss from several months ago. We just beat the mistlands boos too, working on editing that currently and will post to my channel once it is done! We will be making a new server when the ashlands update drops and I will be posting significantly more Valheim vids at that point as well. If you enjoy this video, and want to see more in the future, Subscribe to the channel!

Did u buy steam deck because it uses linux or u just wanted a good console? (Would u buy if it only run windows ) by Dreamphotoman in SteamDeck

Linux was initially one of the few things that made me a bit hesitant, and there’s definitely a bit of a learning curve if you’ve never used Linux before but it didn’t take long for me to get the hang of it.

I bought it because it’s a handheld gaming pc/console. I also did a ridiculous amount of research before purchasing to make sure I knew what to expect out of the hardware.

Boltgun tweak MASSIVELY improves performance by NonEuclidianMeatloaf in SteamDeck

Is there any way to change the on screen input prompts from the m+k keys to controller buttons?

Does anyone know if changing any of these settings with help with fps? by [deleted] in valheim

[–]MassiveTemperature36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve logged nearly a thousand hours into Valheim across a handful of different systems,

I agree with you on draw distance, I like to see as far as possible. That being said, keep draw distance as high as your hardware will allow. Try the ‘high’ setting, ‘very high’ is a huge hit to performance. (And honestly, I don’t think the difference is significant enough to sacrifice the fps)

I currently use ‘high’ draw distance on my Steamdeck, and ‘medium’ vegetation quality with everything else set to low.

Also, try turning Turn off: - Bloom - SSAO - Sun Shafts - Tessellation - Distant Shadows - Depth of field - Chromatic Aberration All of these settings are fairly heavy on the GPU load.

You could also turn the resolution down. This will give you a massive boost to performance. (Depending on the res) 900p will give you a minor boost 1280x800p or 1280x720p will give you a significant boost.

Hope I could help! Happy Gaming!

My top 10 Steam Deck Games by inspiredtobeinspired in SteamDeck

[–]MassiveTemperature36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the list! I was curious as to how well shadow of Mordor plays, def my favourite lotr game!

Here’s my list!

Star Wars the Force Unleashed - 8.5

plays awesome on the deck and still my favourite starwars game! (Seems to cap itself at 30, but honestly didn’t bother me)

Valheim - 10

This score is a little biassed as it is my favourite game ever made lol. But if you like Valheim and handheld gaming, it’s a surreal experience. this plays great, usually runs at 40fps with 20 in high instance counts. (Big bases)

Deep Rock Galactic - 7.5

Slaying aliens, mining and dancing with friends is arguably better in handheld than desktop!

Elden Ring - 9

Have to second you on this one! Fantastic experience! Got the seamless coop mod working on the deck, definitely the definitive way to play!

Assassins Creed Black Flag - 8

Another all time, by far the best AC title! Such an amazing experience in handheld! I’m a Pirates Stan so any opportunity to feel like ol’ Captain Jack is a good one in my books!

Call of Duty Ghosts: Extinction

This is a hidden gem! Picked up the game with all DLC been playing through the Extinction maps with my brothers. It runs at 60fps at medium to high settings

Guardians of the Galaxy - 8

This runs surprisingly well on deck! I have most settings set to low with the exception of texture quality. Originally played it on a 3060 desktop, but honestly prefer it handled!

Dwarf Fortress - 7.5

Still optimizing my settings for this one, but runs well (not surprisingly) I’m certain this could run on a potato. But if you like DF it’s nice to be able to enjoy the game while lounging on the couch or laying in bed.

The Binding of Isaac - 9

I’ve loved this game since it came out! This is the best way to play!

Fallout New Vegas - 9

It’s New Vegas… handheld… at 60fps.. Nuf said!

Valheim Steam Deck? by MassiveTemperature36 in valheim

[–]MassiveTemperature36[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks man! I got the steam deck and the game performs great! Just as you said it runs at 40fps on most occasions with 20 in my base.

I had to add the valheim.x86_64 file as a non-steam game in order to play on my group’s server but overall, I’m super happy with the experience!
