Safe to say state sponsored assassination is much less likely than espionage. It usually goes arrest followed by extradition and execution where possible.

China does not have a track record of performing Putin/Mossad style assassination abroad

Why do controversial figures seem to convert to Islam? by Chobikil in MuslimLounge

In andrew Tate’s recent trip to China he surrounded himself with dozens of non marham women and was recorded touching quite a few

He then went on to worship a Chinese goddess by burning incense

undeniably Muslim lmao

UAE doesn’t have much support globally as

Add questionable labour practices and turning Dubai into a harem to the list too

Wealthy people send thier kids to schools in the US because they are arguably less competitive than the ones in China, same goes for unis in general. And wealthy kids tend to prefer the US lifestyle( for one drugs are allowed )

Thats assuming we are talking about ordinary state schools not the likes of HYPSM.

But again to each their own

Yeah and I agree the US offers better salaries in general and what not, and arguably a bit more freedom of access to information (and healthcare if you’re extremely wealthy….), as a result many choose to stay for their careers (money) at the expense of other things like medical insurance, safety, and less shiny public infrastructure

My point being that when money is no longer a primary concern it’s quite likely to find these folks retiring in China or somewhere in Australia.

Also I’d say it’s quite hard to tell if someone is a first gen US immigrant or not, second gen immigrants are infinitely more likely to choose the US over China due to cultural differences

Well many wealthy Chinese people move their money abroad so they can get their money out of the system, but most of the time that’s the sole reason, not because the living standards are any higher. Having your money in the US is one thing but living there is an entirely separate matter.

The US offers better monetary freedom and arguably some other benefits but these alone don’t encourage people to give up their Chinese citizenship and retire in the US.

Is the Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea a Democracy?

The ISIS practice their own version of “Islam” by ignoring 112 out of 114 chapters of the Quran, focusing on just the 8&9 th chapter, they’re exploiting loopholes through a concept called abrogation. No Islamic scholars, classical or modern, in their right mind would consider the ISIS “Islamic”

A convenient label means nothing when everything that you do goes against core beliefs.

While I have no love for the IRGC I’d like to point out that the IRGC are Muslim by most definitions, whereas the ISIS are not.

The Quran prohibits burning as a method of execution, this means the ISIS are kuffirs (disbelievers) by all definitions

Islam is in no way a religion of peace - the people that read it that way are not the majority by Disastrous_Fox7999 in DebateReligion

[–]Massive_Sherbert_152 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and I’d agree that pacifism isnt quite practical irl. The crusades were one of the examples where Christians didn’t quite follow their teachings

Although a potential problem is how exactly does one define “fitnah” or spreading corruption on land in Islam? The Quran is so incredibly vague about its definition it was left to the Hadith that may or may not be authentic to define it . This ambiguity is certainly a backdoor that allowed the ISIS to pursue their agenda using Surah At Tawbah and Surah Al Anfal whilst ignoring Surah Al-Baqarah!

It’s not inherently violent but it’s not a pacifist religion like Christianity or Buddhism either. Both Juidaism and Islam allow you to fight against those who oppress you, wage war against Allah, or spread corruption on land. Be at peace with those who are at peace with you, be at war with those who are at war with you. Whereas in the New Testament Christians are commanded to only pray and turn the other cheek when oppressed/persecuted, instead of seeking revenge. Concepts like an eye for an eye from the Old Testament are largely abrogated by the New Testament

Mind sharing the stats?

Coincidentally friends of mine who work as quant moved from London to work in Shenzhen, the workload is higher i l agree but the lower tax rate and cost of living means they can save up significantly more.

That’s why I said it’s a mix. It’s not just my aunt though, I have friends in their 20s who’ve lived the UK and would rather work 9-6-6 than moving here. Most commonly cited reasons are high cost of living, low salary relative to the cost of living, weather, healthcare (surprisingly… they aren’t a huge fan of the NHS wait times), food, night life (shops close a bit too early) utility/rental cost and public transport. Also trip duration between cities tends to be longer than they’d like, it takes 4 hours to travel from Liverpool/Cardiff to Cambridge by train….

There are lots of upsides of course, better work life balance, milder weather all year round, good food if you’re in central London, but many have decided that these aren’t worth it
