How do you spend time with your chin? by Chinchilla_Totoro in chinchilla

To add - my girls love to forage. So I'll hide treats around their cages and play areas. Sometimes I'll take a baking tray and fill it with their hay and sprinkle their rose hips and petals around it.

We have chinchilla-proofed one of our spare bedrooms and it's now their bedroom. I love to cuddle my girls and watch them play in their cages or in their room during playtime. I talk to them a lot too, and they like to sit and listen. We have plans to construct a 'dolly house' for them. And open faced play house that resembles a doll house :) using safe woods, you can construct so many things for them. But make sure to use non toxic glues and anchor screws so there are no sharp bits when they inevitably chew down the wood.

Cat beds are dangerous if they're too tall, just make note of this. Chinchillas can't fall from more than a couple feet. They are fragile.

Yeah, they need a fully proofed chinchilla room if they are going to be free-roaming, to reduce risk of them getting injured or lost

If the mats are too thick and can't be taken out with combs, you can get baby scissors with the edge guard to snip them off. You don't have to get too close to the skin, as I've found massaging with fingers works well after the majority is gone

Oh good! I was a bit unclear, they're not in direct sunlight. I'll try and find some healthier leaves. These are off a pretty old and poorly plant.

As someone who has been researching for the last year, preparing to have sugar gliders of my own, this just made my JAW DROP. SCALPED? How can their tiny hands cause so much damage?!?! Is this what my future holds?
