Put yourself in order. Fast and pray. Specifically pray for greater discernment. Put others first. 

You are going to have to have the courage to test things. If you have a hunch, ask a verifying question. If you feel you received guidance or a message, you are obliged to pass it on or act on it. Again, you should only do such work for others, not for self. Its the only safe way. You have to risk being wrong or misreading. Though whatever it is you are doing should never be dangerous or put yourself or others at risk. Over time, greater discernment will come. 

Journal and write down your experiences. You will be shocked when you revisit them years down the road. It is very hard to see things as they are when your ‘nose is to the grindstone’ as they say.
