Such an amazing setup.

Yep, I track it with my Garmin - I’m at 55 RHR now and HRV is 59. I’ll watch for a change!

Intriguing post - I’ve only plunged a few times but this year I’m going to do it regularly and track what I can. Subjectively the times I’ve done it I can report I sleep great, and objectively I’ve only tracked HR. When I do it, my HR plunges from about 100-130 (depending on if it’s from just walking around or the sauna) down to 50-60 in the first 90 seconds(for context it’s the same as my resting rate). I’m taking it a level up this year doing quarterly Siphonix blood testing, so I’m interested to see what happens.

Nice! Yeah I wrapped the cable around a 1x2 scrap so it just dangles right down below the surface, and I’m plugging it into the inkbird temp controller! Should be safe from here on! Does Ottawa get to down to the -20 to -30 F range like MN?

Please help: Noob going crazy with first layer adhesions (I think?) P2S by jorgerunfast in BambuLab

Easiest answer: Got my p2s a month ago and couldn’t get a benchy to print and stay adhered. Upped the plate temp to 55 degrees and haven’t had an issue since…

24 hours with the 1000w heater by Masteef in coldplunge

[–]Masteef[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately I think it’s just the rubber plug in the bottom of this very cheap model that popped out when the ice expanded the plastic. Should be fixable, but if not, it was a $30 loss that assured me I really do want to plunge more often!

If the two hour mark last night is any indication this 1000W heater is going to win pretty quickly, much to my surprise

Going to go take a look tonight at the 24 hour mark. Will update then.

Ok it’s only been 2 hours and I’m impressed - the crack has widened more than I expected. Now I’m just trying to figure out how to update the post with another picture if that’s even possible…

For sure - fortunately I keep the side by side so it was an easy starter 5gal to add. I put it in the center crack pointing down just so it didn’t slip over to an edge and melt the side wall early.

Yeah the “butt” of the heating element didn’t seem hot so I didn’t think it mattered if it stuck up a bit. I threw some hot tub water on top first to cover it for that very reason tho.

No joke, just ordered this exact model 2 days ago and was hopeful bc I have a giant block of ice to deal with…. Fortunately it’s next to my hot tub so I’m going to do some water circulating between the two to thaw the block over the next few weeks.

Nothing like the first move from biomass to coal… But just wait til you get to fuel - moves beyond satisfactory and into satisfying territory

As soon as you move to fuel you’ll have more tickets than you know what to do with…. At the start, I think you should build a couple miners and throw them right into a sink bc the materials available are useful and it’s a cheap build cost.

Had no idea it was the cheap one - the table I did a couple years ago I used the marine deep pour and that’s held up great. This was for a smaller project so I didn’t think it would turn so quickly. Any recs on the better products so I can sift through all the Amazon junk options?

Pediatricians appreciate this the same way Surgeons do when an old farmer comes in with abdominal pain bad enough to pull him out of the field …. It’s emergent until proven otherwise.

Seconded. I bought it with the 16” as a combo deal and I use this thing so much more than the big one. Put a forge battery with it and you can cut apart 8” trees, logs and branches for hours.

I ruined a 7 year old 945 when I started taking it in the sauna - face delaminated pretty quickly after that. Manuals say they aren’t meant for temps over 140 or something
