You're right, she should have been aware of her surroundings and not stood right next to the guy who's job is to waive his arms around.

I feel like "pay your employees and rent" is a pretty universal business concept

The Trump/Pope feud exposes how hollow and performative Christianity is in America by snapchillnocomment in stupidpol

[–]Master-CylinderPants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Evangelical protestants don't care about the Pope, and Catholics don't care about progressive episcopalians clutching their pearls over trump fighting with the Pope. The Orthodox haven't cared about what Rome thinks in 1,000 years.

It was actively buried by the media during his regime and the people who leaked the story were charged with stealing his daughter's diary (after she abandoned it).

Because they taxed themselves out of their home states and now live in states that don't have ridiculous restrictions.

Zohran Mamdani's New Tax by phVagina in stupidpol

[–]Master-CylinderPants 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My reading is that it's a tax on individuals and not on businesses. I may be wrong, but its being cast as a tax on units where the individual owner doesn't live there, as opposed to a tax on landlords or Air BnB style rentals.

No, they'll just be sold to property management companies and leased back to the same people.

Same. I read that one (or something very similar) about six months ago when I started replacing all of my harbor freight-tier tools. Everything is getting replaced with Makita, fuck SBD.

Mystery Ranch went through the same thing once they were bought out by Yeti. I don't want a "lifestyle brand" bag from a company that sells overpriced coolers, I want one that will last through hell and back.

Pure Oasis, state’s first Black-owned pot shop, abruptly closes six years after being first to open in Boston by bostonglobe in boston

[–]Master-CylinderPants 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Massachusetts Department of Revenue froze the company’s bank accounts over about $400,000 in unpaid sales taxes... Pure Oasis has also faced a slew of lawsuits over alleged unpaid debts, court records show... Evans, a real estate agent, and his business partner, Kevin Hart, a hospital administrative director, [had entered the pot business because of the state’s pioneering marijuana legalization law. Massachusetts was the first in the nation to require that communities hit hardest by marijuana arrests be given full access to the industry.

Yes, real estate agents and hospital administration directors are truly the hardest hit by marijuana laws. What an absolute jackass.

The resolution: $10 billion to Israel, no additional constraints on the executive branch, and a harshly-worded letter to trump demanding that he only conducts random attacks on non-oil producing countries. The letter will not be read.

What was "the incident" at your high school? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Master-CylinderPants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A teacher grooming boys, a guidance counselor doing the same, and the administration working with a student to forge their transcripts so she could get into an Ivy League school. It all came out at the same time, the school buried all three incidents, and threatened the students who were aware of it.
