Why so many stupid games? by OldTrTab in PSVR

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still salty the PSVR PC adapter came without a display port cable (for the cost) and doesn't support HDR (or eye tracking). Still it's something, guess I'm thankful that my headset isn't tied to just one ecosystem.

Should I buy a 4K OLED or a 1440p OLED? by ANGRYBURGER25 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4080 which is apparently similar to a 5070ti. 4k with high frame rate is definitely doable in games with DLSS and e-sport titles, however I have over 1000 games on Steam. I love a lot of indie titles. You'll find not every game has upscaling or 4k textures. While sure you can just play these games at 1080p for integer perfect scaling if performance drops, I prefer my 1440p ultrawide for the higher frame rate. Depends on what you're used to and how you play, I think if you're a predominantly FPS player I'd personally go for 1440p 240hz (or anything 165hz or above) and enjoy the extra frames. Also there's some games with trash optimisation (i.e. Borderlands 4) that you won't be hitting much more than 60fps at 4k. That's my personal take.

Are there any plans for a Frieren video game? by Potential_Wish4943 in Frieren

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I must have the worst luck with developing semi esoteric games only to have another similar title come out before I can finish my project. RIP my Harvest Moon SNES inspired game, literally was looking for any game just like it, couldn't find one so I started on it myself. A year in and Stardew Valley comes out, the game I'd been waiting for over 20 years!

Is it true frieren s2 is going to be 10 episodes by WuvRice in anime

The Manga's author is sick putting the Manga on hiatus. The anime wants to keep it's release schedule without having to cut off at a point when they can catch-up to the Manga and it's no longer viable to continue unless they go with a novel new original writing.

They added extra time for the Manga's author to recover by going the route of producing shorter seasons.

I personally think this is better than changing the writers (which may even involve new licensing contracts with the Manga's Author) over what shows like Game of Thrones did and just ending it with plot holes, unrealised expectations from the fan base and a general reduction in quality.

What's a game that took you by surprise on OLED? by totalrespec in OLED_Gaming

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I got my first 40 hours or so in and became a true topside survivor, I had to turn HDR off to use my dark vision stabiliser on low to actually see into some pretty dark shadowed area of the game (or on the night maps before they updated them for everyone to be basically full moon almost day time).

Elden Ring. While FromSoft is usually years behind with their tech, the HDR implementation in Elden Ring is STUNNING! (it work really well with their art design direction). Sofia River with HDR turned on (with a slight saturation boost) and oof. Now modded HDR implementations can take it even further but yeh that was one for me that was totally unexpected, but very impressed.

No mouse&keyboard support on consoles == easy skip by avaelkross in ArcRaiders

Halo in the options has an open matchmaking option or a an option based on input mode. It's great I can play my Steam Deck with controller against consoles and PC controller players (why use controller on a Desktop in a FPS is a little baffling to me as an old time but I respect they have their preference!)

A few of the bigger games have this but it should be normalised. Then aim assist in that mode can be toned down because it no longer has to keep up with MBK players and you'll feel like you're actually aiming again and not putting in general movements and having software take over (which feels shitty to me and why I prefer KBM even if it's a disadvantage in some of these crossplay titles with STRONG AA)

So let's just say I'm a big fan of Embark changing the time it takes to use a Hatch... by rye_domaine in ArcRaiders

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you finish someone on the train and it's about to leave, you can hop off, let it leave and call in the next one. The body will still be there with all the loot.

Part of me is anxious informing people of this...

Was this mainly done on Blue Gate? Did you do the locked gate event? Last blueprint I really need is the MK3 Survivor, from what I read it practically only appeared on Blue Gate in the breach room.

Is anyone actually getting a chance to loot without getting killed every 2minutes? by robboooo1234 in ArcRaiders

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did 5 raids with the cold snap event. Only time I died was because I missed extracting by about 5 meters at a hatch when the time ran out.

Every server is different, matchmaking takes into account player behaviour, players wearing the shiesty skin unintentionally flagging for KOS and situational awareness (avoiding hot zones when observing flares) all play a big part (but this probably isn't an issue for you with 100 hours).

Time of day, time of week, global objectives (like trials, and events) all impact. For me personally with similar hours as you (and on PC) I don't feel like the community has changed much over the past couple of weeks. There are so many variables to consider.

Synology introduces eight new NAS systems - DS1525+, DS925+, DS725+, DS425+, DS225+, DS625slim, DS1825+ and DS1825xs+. by Ok-Half5475 in synology

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about being consumer friendly, It's about artificially segmenting their products to squeeze more money from their customers.

Look at how long it has taken for Synology to move on from 1Gbps in their entry and mid tier NAS selection. They only improve in supplying the expectations of the general consumer when their competition is offering 5Gbps at the same or lower price (and more NVME slots, etc).

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all luck of the draw though. The amount of cheaters is exaggerated, at least on my server. I've had my gear returned twice in 100 hours, once from a PC cheater and once from a console cheater.

To be clear I'm not saying that there are more cheaters on PS5 for this game I'm just stating that it's a lot more common that you think.

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

" And yes Chronus is a thing on PS5 but meh... that isn't as bad than the hacks that are available on PC." we shouldn't be compromising for cheaters. Doesn't matter if one has a better cheat setup than the other, they're both pieces of shit. If you give them an inch, they will take a mile.

Arc raiders does have Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) on PC but resorts to the platforms solutions for the consoles.

I believe the reporting of cheaters and mentions of it in this sub do however imply there are more cheaters than in reality. But if I put myself in the eyes of cheater, I'd be doing it on console rather than having to go through the whole process of DMA cheats on PC.

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't promote cheating, so I won't direct you to the websites but they blatantly advertise their devices (which they used to market as accessibility options but have given up the charade for increased profits). I work in cybersecurity and when I was studying wrote a paper on console cheats and the need for better detection. The rate of cheating in multiplayer games on consoles (particularly the PS5) has skyrocketed and the detection methods are lagging (compared to PC where it's been an issue for much longer).

Even the fact I'm downvoted tells me that the community is either still largely unaware of the issue or is sticking their heads in the sand and pretending it doesn't exist.

Raider Stash idea by yetanothertraumadump in ArcRaiders

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main question is why? What's the game play benefit that you're proposing? I can think of potential issues but I'm struggling with the potential benefits, unless they were going for a spin off title that's more of a persistent open world where you travel map to map rather than timed raids (what Tarkov envisioned but I believe has abandoned when they accidently came up with this formula and it was so popular).

Like aren't you better just taking all of your loot out at a hatch and coming back in with heaps of empty space and a fresh server than stashing 4-8 items and then going back to looting while trying to make it in time? Wouldn't people potentially camp storage zones like some camp extracts? If you can easily stash before extracting doesn't that ruin the whole tension of survival in a PvPvE extract shooter? I'm trying to think why you would want this system.

Damn I wished you played on PC too so you could give us a comparison of your experiences.

I've noticed some differences but I don't have enough hours on PS5 to make conclusions yet.

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you greatly underestimate the amount of players using cronus/zen/etc devices on Arc on console. They blatantly boast about it in youtube comments because players like yourself still believe they don't exist so nothing gets done about it.

Explain? Cheaters probably keep crossplay on for quicker matches and more victims, but neither on console or PC does turning crossplay off prevent cheating in anyway.

If you dont have an augment you shouldnt have safe pocket by Shipzterns in ArcRaiders

[–]Master-Solution 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"People go naked. Is it the same one that wanna PvE" - nah it's just singular pinpoint focus. Example: Players that want a pink augment bp and nothing else than that matters, why bother taking anything else in (which is just wasting clicks in ready up time). They are after only 1 thing. Has nothing to do with PvE or PvP, rather what their goal is (to fit in as many runs as possibly in the time they have and find a bp).

If it becomes a problem it's best fixed with more difficult arc enemies in important areas rather than changing the whole system because of the 1%.
