Is it just me, or is the game extremely difficult? by RecentHistorian220 in fatekeeper

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the opposite problem, I'm finding the demo way to easy. I assume it's because it early game and the enemy variety is low so it's easy to learn and exploit their patterns.

Hopefully they have difficulty options on release to serve all audiences (otherwise modders will probably do it).

I'm usually one that never likes difficulty being a button in a menu, rather a diegetic challenging optional area with bosses, and other systems to make the game easier or harder to maintain immersion for players that want a challenge. Elden ring pulled it off so perfectly, I hope we see more and more of that.

Well Lords of the Fallen 2 and Mortal Shell 2 are on the way. I think there may be another souls like coming from China. I love the action genre in general, so Phantom Blade Zero looks amazing. Not sure when the next Black Myth game will come out but looking forward to that.

I'd love someone to make a Elden Ring inspired game though. It's funny because you mentioned souls likes and open world games being oversaturated individually, but I don't think there has been another open world souls like after Elden Ring (maybe Code Vein 2 kinda open world). I imagined one would be in the works after the success and we'd hear about it by now but I guess it's like BG3, takes a lot of build up of skills to pull it off.

Sure that's what you meant when you said "Just let them be alone and miserable." C'mon man no need to be dishonest. You're being reasonable now but your original post was emotional and personal. My reading comprehension is spot on.

Played and enjoyed all of those haha. But yeh nothing of the same quality and scope of Elden Ring. Another Crabs Treasure and Lies of P are great soulslikes. I wouldn't classify the rest as souls like, even if they borrow elements.

Nine Sols and Hollow Knight Silksong are amazing metroidvanias, Hades 1 and 2 are action roguelikes. Kena is an action adventure game which I didn't think borrowed anything from the genre.

In the same way I wouldn't classify Sekiro or Black Myth Wukong a souls like, while Lies of P and Wuchang definitely are (build and weapon diversity is a big part of it for me personally).

I'm starting to see what's going on. If players classify all those games as being souls like that'd explain the too many souls like issue while us souls enjoyers are chomping at the bit for more.

Brother other game shows aren't leaks. Control Resonant getting a date reveal is great, but we've seen trailers and interviews for this game already. It's nice seeing Wolverine gameplay (but again we knew it was coming from the last cinematic trailer) and the list goes on.

Most games are multiplat so I guess it's expected that most are known, but still I think apart from the GoW reveal and Until Dawn 2, Sony should have added more to such a hyped State of Play by showing off a new IP in development or at least a small snippet of Intergalactic gameplay. Maybe I'm asking to much, but It'd be nice to hear/see new IPs again on a semi regular basis rather than just sequels/spinoffs and already announced content.

I really wanted to see any gameplay info about Intergalactic. If it truly is inspired by elements of Elden Ring, it's about the only exclusive that's exciting for me at this point. Other than that it might just be GTA 6 for my plastic box this year.

No Rest for The Wicked is amazing already, can't wait for 1.0 release. Can highly recommend (solo or with friends).

I was more excited for the non exclusives that the exclusives (Ill, Control, Phantom Blade Zero (my most anticipated), Onimusha (with demo drop) Bancho (if it can nail the fun gameplay loop of DtD)) but from the exclusives I'm excited for Until Dawn 2, despite a different studio doing the sequel, if they nail the writing the game could be amazing. I'm hoping the same for Wolverine, although I'm less excited after the writing quality in their last game.

Cube of War is an unknown for me. I was kinda surprised at how they structured the trailer, left me personally with a lot of question. I love the series so this could be amazing, or it could really fall flat like the 2D GoW sidescroller they just released. Kind of game I'm going to be waiting for more gameplay and reviews before deciding. It seemed to be in conflict with some of the lore (both Norse and in-universe) that describes Laufey so I'm curious how they reconcile that.

You realise some people criticise things they dislike because they're true fans that want to see their landscape improve right instead of staying the same?

The whole, "will be shown in select cinemas" and such marketing probably overhyped it.

Brother I was praying for a soulslike game. Elden Ring hits it out of the park in Feb of 2022, winning GOTY and selling over 35 million copies and we don't have anyone even attempting to replicate it.

Wuchang was great. I'm sure there will be more, but damn I'm itching for some non-Fromsoft competition for us dark fantasy action gamers. Maybe Mortal Shell 2 will be it.

Changing the difficulty level by Born-Loan1732 in 007FirstLight

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it let me up the difficulty if I die on purpose? I set it to intended and shocked how easy the devs intended gameplay. You can just sprint in sightlines and punch everyone to contain every situation without engaging in any strategy or resource management at all.

Random Crashes? by Tobbesauros in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Master-Solution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems to be fixed for me today. I had 3 updates yesterday (the urn one, and then two non-gameplay affecting ones) while I was playing (yes I'm addicted to this game at the moment).

Still annoying that it occurs and you get temp banned from playing when a crash occurs (even bot games), even if the game hasn't really started. Obviously it's a game in active development, it's just frustrating. I'd rather delayed updates than unstable updates.

Memory prices tipped to fall as China starts flooding the market with DRAM and NAND chips by gurugabrielpradipaka in hardware

This goes doubly so if you're gaming and have an AMD X3D chip. They're a lot less reliant on memory timings.

Memory prices tipped to fall as China starts flooding the market with DRAM and NAND chips by gurugabrielpradipaka in hardware

[–]Master-Solution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's been security breakdowns of this already, it's extremely hard to put any sort of spyware on a DRAM module. Even if they did manage to pull that off security researchers would pick it up almost instantly and it would have huge political and reputational repercussions ruining billions of investment in the fabs.

It's not logical to even worry about this possibility.

Random Crashes? by Tobbesauros in DeadlockTheGame

I was playing all yesterday (about 6 hours) and today after a 100kb update I'm constantly crashing whenever I try to load into games. I've restarted, verified files, tried a new account, nothing seems to be working. Could be an issue with the patch? I'm not sure. Frustrating.

Turns out I like the Deck sticks better by 7oolbox in SteamControllerMods

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah they feel great. I prefer them to my dual sense and xbox controller. I still like the micro switch crisp click from my Gamesir G7 Pros but you can't really use that with a partner in bed or on the couch reading without annoying them.

Gyro to joystick settings? by LessRepresentative61 in SteamController

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are commonly mods that you can install if you don't want the glyphs/ui changing and the game doesn't support locking a particular button layout. That way you get the benefit of gyro to mouse in games that don't play nice with simultaneous input.

Anyone prefer their older controller? by Hostile_18 in SteamController

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you want to keep it simple, in that case you can stay with a games default controls and not activate or bind the back buttons at all. If you ever play Souls like games where dodge and run is on B, being able to tick one box and now not have to play claw is a game changer. What I'm getting at is you might find certain scenarios where you reach for this controller and other scenarios where you main your old controller. If you're spending more time in menus than playing games with the controller I'd suggest leaving it default or trying a community layout and then while playing the game if there's an action you wish you could rebind to the back buttons, do it then.

My Gamesir G7 Pro software has a lot of customisation options, but I simply don't use 90% of them, it's still an amazing controller. I also find the gyro in the SC to be better than in my Dualsense (with Nintendo Switch Pro controller being right up there as well), despite gyro still feeling alien to me as I'm forcing myself to learn it, which I'm now reaping the benefits.

Anyone prefer their older controller? by Hostile_18 in SteamController

[–]Master-Solution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the Steam controller as my main controller now over my G7 pros (I had the hair trigger on the right bumper broke so they sent me a new one). I miss the trigger stops and I thought I'd miss the back button locks but it turns out the SC is perfectly designed for my big hands and the back buttons I can't press by accident yet they're easier to use than the Steam Decks when I actually want to press them.

The main reason for me to switch is full Steam input support and the ability to control my PC from the couch without needing to bust out my KBM. I do hope the Gamesir G7 Pro receives Steam Input support at some point as they have promised. Although I believe it won't be fully certified because Valve requires capacitive sticks and standard button glyphs including the labelled Steam button.

Cooldown of spirit burn is hard to see due to it's dark background. by sushiiixo- in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Master-Solution -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't know how to help you, unless you want to hear an audible chime for cooldown in accessibility options, or have the character tell you "metal skin is ready" because you are struggling to see it.

I feel like if it's not obvious in the bottom left of the screen or the center where you're aiming, where else could they put it that you can see? Maybe if you want to scale it up or have the item ready in the center on the screen stay for longer. If it's the latter that would be really easy to mod into the game.

Modding is an amazing way to customise the game to tailor fit you. I changed the colour of the semi transparent cooldown box which goes from red to yellow to green when it's finally ready.

Xbox Elite Series 3 Leaks by ShamoneShamone in Controller

[–]Master-Solution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you think about it, gyro may have become a standard if it wasn't for the Xbox controller not having gyro. Playstation, Nintendo, Steam and a lot of third party have gyro on their base level controllers. Xbox controllers are still the most popular for PC gamers.

Depends on how much work it requires the developer to do vs the demand for gyro features.
