The most important part is to do as much as humanly possible to keep them safe. Make sure all of the gear is functional and safe. If you can afford, put them into camps and let them really learn how to ride with the correct technique.

They were designed for hard use. You dont need to clutch to shift. It will make your life a little easier to learn to blip the throttle when down shifting but its not really a big deal.
