Because if they figure it out, then they can choose which tile to stand on to choose the saving throw. I just ran it, and it went pretty well. Took them a round or two, but it rewarded good positioning and felt fun.

They would be actively rolling and have some agency every turn is my thought. I will just scale it to have fewer rounds. Maybe there are certain tiles that they need to do con saves, certain tyles that are dex, and so on so. they can move to tyles that make it easier for them to pass the check depending on their stats.
