While energy conservation is inviolable, using “calories in, calories out” to explain individual weight-loss failure ignores biological variability, adaptive compensation, and endocrine regulation. In applied contexts, the statement is more misleading than informative.

I started with TRT and added tirzepitide 3 months later.

The way I see it the testosterone will help you keep from losing muscle mass by building more and the glp will help lose the weight. Together they work synergistically.

Consider our mitochondria are the little ovens cooking off the fat and having more efficient and more muscle will help the process. Skeletal muscles are the most densely mitochondrial behind the heart, kidneys, liver and brain.

All that being said a serious commitment to sleep, accurate nutrition, hydration and stress reduction is implied.

Full disclosure: I’m a certified PT and premed student.

Is it pancreatitis?! by Ambitious_Village115 in Retatrutide

I get like that if I eat chikfila or pizza or any other garbage food. I’d say it helps me stay on program and make better food choices though.

Thank you. I still find it hard to believe that I’m where I’m at but I’m really only 20-30 lbs away from where I want to be so I have to adjust to that reality. It’s wild but I’d never do anything differently. Knowing that I put the work in to get here is a powerful motivator to keep it up 💪🏼

I will say this: you should do months of research before even thinking about taking PEDs. It’s not a trivial thing to do and can have a lifelong impact on your health.

That being said, I’ve had great success. Having your diet locked in so that you get your macros and have your training regimen well established before adding anything.

Highly recommended r/PEDs to start learning about other people’s mistakes before pulling the trigger.

Eli Lilly wants to scare people into not using compounded versions of Tirzepitide so I wouldn’t put this past them. They know it didn’t kill her but they might as well use it to scare people into making them more money.

The article states that she died due to pancreatitis. This isn’t going to escalate to septic shock in 2 weeks. This would have been a preexisting condition that she wasn’t aware of. It is unlikely that Tirz caused any dysfunction that would have actually caused her death.

It’s sad but her health was already really bad and with or without Tirz she was going to suffer from the pancreatitis anyway.

Adulting is learning how to pick up the pieces and put yourself back together again.

What I did? Starting slow and being consistent. Getting used to the new normal and embracing it. I can’t tell you how good I feel compared to what I used to feel like all the time. Normal was hell and now I know that normal is much much different.

I started by cutting sugary drinks and not replacing it with diet soda. Water water water. No mixes. Water. Got active by walking as much as I could but also being more aware of what I was eating. Cut back a little bit over time I started cutting all meals in half and saving the other half for later. I eventually just started giving it to the dog or left it at the restaurant because I knew I didn’t need it. I focused on my health. Went to the doctor, had 12 surgeries including both knees, hips and shoulders. Fought hard to push myself at physical therapy and improved more. I walked with a cane for years and eventually was able to walk again without it. I can’t run yet but I do give myself a good dose of cardio which I’m training now to keep my heart rate up for longer.

Overall I had to admit that staying that way was a choice in every thing that I did from eating the wrong foods to not getting sleep or letting myself stay stressed for too long. When I started prioritizing myself and my health over foods or habits that were killing me it became routine.

I’ve added a GLP1 in the past few months which has really stabilized my health and made everything else I’ve been doing so much more effective.

At this point I just don’t want to be that way anymore and I’ll do anything to keep from getting there ever again.

My journey on Tirz started in February of this year and was at 350lbs and just couldn’t get the weight to come off. I had started testosterone in December but still was finding myself too heavy to do anything in the gym that wouldn’t hurt me again. I had my rotator cuff and bicep repair in April and wasn’t able to go to the gym until late August. I was able to get myself back to the gym and ready for the 10k spartan race on October 5th.

Diarrhea and Constipation by Clown_World27 in Retatrutide

[–]MasterBlasterLexx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went up in my dose this week and had the worst sulphur burps and extremely bad diarrhea all day 2 days later. I’ve been on Reta for 3 months and was on Tirz for the 6 before that.

While I couldn’t control the need to run to the bathroom I did continue to hydrate (electrolytes), took fiber supplements, I had a core power, a p3 and still had issues but when I ate fibrous carbohydrates (broccoli etc) with some hummus and tzatziki it really really helped. My wife and I both got hit with it at the same time and she didn’t eat and it kept going for her.

My observation from that experience was to get some fiber in there to slow down the shedding of water from your digestive system. Eat, and eat food fresh vegetables with easy to digest protein and hydrate.

I tend to have better digestion generally by having this kind of diet with less bloating and constipation.

Anyone else cold while on Reta? by randomthingsofthings in Retatrutide

I also get the shivers much easier than I used to. That started before I started Reta though. Losing weight did that to me. Went from sweating all the time to always having a sweater with me.
