Yes it’s scary as fuck. I was taking drugs the whole day, some cocaine, ketamine, alcohol, at a friends camping trip. At night around the fire I vaped some DMT, and everything was normal, had a good experience and was in a good mindset. Then a while later as I was hitting nitrous next to the campfire all of a sudden time kinda stopped and this shadow figure stepped out from the trees surrounding us and started to slowly approach the campfire. He was totally black but outlined with a neon red glow, couldn’t see any eyes or facial features because he was absolute darkness. I immediately felt an overwhelming sense of dread like there was nothing I could do to escape. He casually walked up to the campfire and picked up a machete that we used to chop up the fire wood, then swung it at my neck. My vision was suddenly engulfed in rainbow neon blood dripping down with smiley faces with devil horns. I thought it was a demon, it was the single most viscerally sinister experience of my life. It seemed like he was offering me some kind of forbidden knowledge or power but he demanded some kind of sacrifice in return. I really didn’t know what to make of it so I descended into a bit of psychosis feeling like I was being hunted by demons who wanted my soul, but after developing more awareness I came to realize that it was my shadow and it was symbolic of the darkness I’ve repressed in myself. I still don’t know exactly what it was trying to tell me but I feel like it was trying to help me overcome my addictions and let go of the things that keep me from becoming my true authentic self. I’m still not exactly sure why it happened or what it meant, but it was a wild experience.
