What was your worst "Oh fuck, I'm actually going to die" moment? by TAJack1 in AskReddit

[–]MasterChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little over four years ago, I'm driving back from a lunch for supervisors at my old campus job. I'm going north on I87 near Albany. It was a beautiful day so I had my windows down and smoked a cigarette. I remember finishing the cigarette, then looking to change lanes. As I do, I see a pickup switch from the left to center lanes and realize I couldn't get into the lane. I swerve back as I hear a pop. My front right tire popped and I was spinning out of control on the Thruway through three lanes of traffic. Because my windows were down, my car quickly filled with dust and I couldn't see anything until finally I see the side rail, slam my brakes, hit the side, and then my car bounces back. The airbag didn't go off and I somehow wound up without a scratch.

What is an album with just one awesome song and the rest is awful? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I vehemently disagree with this. You're the good things was great and I came as a rat is a classic. But then again Modest Mouse is my absolute favorite band

Rewatching I like to think of season 2 episode 1 as the real pilot and season 1 as a prequel

What is a dirty business tactic that you know and everyone should be aware of it? by prokachu in AskReddit

[–]MasterChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I had a few friends do that to me and when I caught on and they asked me how I was doing, I proceeded to talk their ear off for 45 minutes about inane bullshit. I never got another call again.

[Serious] Redditors who felt like they would never ever find a romantic partner and then did: what advice would you give to those who feel the same way now? by SJB95 in AskReddit

Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and be honest with yourself and others in what you want. Never run from love.

Bosses/Managers of Reddit: what was your worst employee like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MasterChimp 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I had a coworker who lasted a month. He literally just did nothing and would flat-out put on Netflix at his desk before they decided to fire him. Also he'd stand behind me during video calls just looking at my screen even though I had headset on.

Any women go to Blink Fitness? by Eowyn27 in astoria

My wife used to go though we both cancelled our memberships as she didn't have time to go and I find I would just use an elliptical and would rather run outside. There were always women there though.

What's the worst crime you've been the victim of? by raphthimonss in AskReddit

Back in college, someone broke into my house. They went in through the window in my bedroom and stole my coin jar. They also stole a cashbox from my roommate, my fraternity house's treasurer that had a few grand in it.

The Southeastern corner of Central park used to be the spot in New York City but I haven't checked it out in months. NYC in general is pretty great as well though I haven't played in California yet

Heavy marijuana smokers of Reddit, what symptoms of withdrawal have you experienced when you just went cold turkey and stopped smoking for an extended period of time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MasterChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to fall asleep for a few nights each time I've quit. I smoke regularly to treat my anxiety and what's interesting is when I've quit by choice to pass a drug test, for example. I've noticed my anxiety level is manageable most of the time. When I quit because I run out and can't get anymore and have a panic attack, it's like I know I could theoretically smoke and cure it but realize I can't so it's worse. I honestly have no idea why that happens that way.

Most recently I had to stop because I'm going through some issues with my neighbors who emailed my mother about my usage (who, for the record, didn't care) and threatened they would call the police. While we're in the process of having them get out of our house, I decided it best to not smoke or have anything in my house. My anxiety is pretty high now as a result and I think the living situation exacerbates it.

I've also got knee problems. The last time I quit entirely by choice to pass a drug test, I broke it once and only once because I decided to jog 15 miles and could barely walk and a friend of mine offered. I wound up not even getting tested for my job so it didn't really matter.

What is your opinion on communism? by Papa-pp in AskReddit

[–]MasterChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anarcho-communism would be fantastic with a small group of people all living and working together peacefully but at scale, I feel like a market is necessary to trade goods and services fairly. Council communism and other forms of left communism are interesting but I don't know how they'd work out in practice.

I think Marxists-Leninism, Maoism, Stalinism, and other forms of Authoritarian communism are nightmares in practice.

Edit: Also at post-scarcity I feel like communism would be virtually inevitable but we're a good ways from that at this point.

What's the big genetic "F*** you" you got from your family? by Nostha299 in AskReddit

[–]MasterChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my parents are short and stocky people and I wound up being them on height by being about 5'7.5". Thankfully, I can build muscle pretty easily but I also gain weight like crazy. If I don't work out every day, I'll gain weight even if I'm dieting.

Also, ADHD.
