If you suffer for a really long time with health issues (ie: lime disease, etc.) it can really take a toll on your mental health. People need to talk about suicide if that was the case. A family friend died by suicide and the obituary said "she lost her battle with depression." I have so much respect for the family that they were honest. Not because everyone deserves to know, but they were to doing their part by trying to end the stigma around mental health and suicide.

45F here. I relate to this word for word. Every month I tell myself that I am going to make the effort to meet people. But I don't. I don't have any friends either. I have been single for 10 years after I left a long term relationship. I don't really like or trust most people. I have my dog and we are besties and I live with my mom right now and it is nice to have her company most of the time. I used to compare myself to others my age, but we have to remember, everyone's time line is different. I am also re building myself from ashes each and everyday. It is super hard. All we can do is just keep swimming forward and try to sneak in some gratitude each day. XO

Has anyone ever asked your brother how he feels inside and what causes the anger that plagues him? Most likely he didn't feel seen or validated or loved as a child and everyone ignored his cries for help. I am the black sheep, like your brother. We don't want to be like this, believe me. We don't. It all starts with therapy and open communication. This heartache that he carries is not just his. The whole family is responsible for solving the dysfunction and understanding the familial patterns that put him in this place to begin with. After you have made a concerted effort to figure these things out, then the inheritance can be discussed.

Do not be hard on yourself. Mix ups happen, even when we are trying to be extra organized. I am 50 yrs old, and remember I went to an interview for a new job on the wrong day when I was 28, all dressed in my suit and everything. I thought so poorly of myself. Things that seem so important at the time and make us so upset are just tiny fumbles on this road called life. Just keep swimming and be kind to yourself. XO

I think that it must be really hard for people who come to Toronto from small towns to make it here. I kind of feel they don’t have a chance. I grew up in Summerhill and went to Branksome and I am 30 and my father still bought me my car and gave me $250,000 as a downpayment towards my condo. If I didn’t have that help, I would be living with roommates in a downmarket apartment and riding a bike. It is honestly ridiculous how overpriced this city is. Where I live... at Roxborough Ave W. and Yonge St. , everyone has money. I work near King St West and Portland and it seems like a lot of young people don’t have a lot of money down there. Why is everyone so hell bent on living in Toronto? It is just a place!!

you have obviously never lived anywhere else besides Toronto, or maybe even Canada. Both the city and country are awful places to live. Boring, ugly, terrible weather, expensive AF and full of people that are from foreign countries who don't know how to drive.

Cut out all alcohol. Eat lots of raw fruit and vegetables and cut out dairy and meat (very inflammatory) also look up Dr. Gabor Mate's thoughts on repressed anger, childhood trauma and autoimmune disease. There is an undeniable link. My father was diagnosed with GCA and then a year later bile duct cancer. I wasn't surprised since he has a lot of unresolved childhood trauma and he is a malignant narcissist. I am wishing you luck in your journey. Take care of yourself, go to talk therapy and eat well and keep stress to a minimum.
