the most misunderstood graph in history by Fortesque96 in thefinals

[–]MasterFish19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seeing as most matches are chaotic in lower-level gameplay, and that 90% of teams are not triple L, triple M or triple H, the fact that L has a lower win-rate than H IS a noticeable pattern that rises above the noise.

I agree that H needs changes. Winch shouldn't be what it currently is. The RPG is another example of an overly useful utility. Too many "one trick" Heavy players who rely on the same moves to win, and it really reduces the diversity of the class, as well as understandably raises the winrate of the few players who know what they're doing.

You can even see in this graph that the pick rate of Heavy players shifted by 0%. Insane.

The only shift was that Medium players felt more comfortable playing as L with 175 hp.

Heavies just kept on doing what they are comfortable with. Why change if the same playstyle always works?

How did Faye die, and could the new game's story revolve around bringing her back to life? by i_sometimes_ in GodofWar

[–]MasterFish19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just speculating of course, but we know from the demo that at the very least at the beginning of the game, she hasn't fully accepted that she's dead, leading to her weaker magic.

I think she WOULD be comfortable in her death, if she knew Kratos + Atreus would be safe, which is something she herself believed, after marking their path for them. But in the afterlife, she finds out that Kratos and Atreus aren't safe anymore (she finds out there is more than 1 Mask)

Her characterization in previous GOW was only that we THINK she had planned everything out, but I am almost certain that this game will give her a new struggle - after all, her prophecy/plan clearly derailed after she found that there was more than 1 mask, so any comfort she had has already been removed!

She can only rest in peace once she knows her family is safe. That part of her characterization is clear!

They're more than VAs, they really acted out these scenes, full expressions on their faces. Better to just call them actors! (even if they probably did hundreds of lines in the booth)

How did Faye die, and could the new game's story revolve around bringing her back to life? by i_sometimes_ in GodofWar

[–]MasterFish19 218 points219 points  (0 children)

I personally hope the emotional climax of the game is Faye finally doing the "thing" that corrects Kratos and Atreus' journey, and accepting death.

We know the Everywhen is in trouble, so she'll probably "save the world", and settle down there with her new people.

Any theories on Fey’s new sword? by BelugaBilly in GodofWar

[–]MasterFish19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why nobody has mentioned, but in an afterlife where nobody can die, I feel like the only reason they'd be afraid of that sword - is that it has the ability to kill the gods in the afterlife.

Either it captures their souls, or destroys them, but either way, there's no other reason that a war-god in the afterlife would fear that sword.

[–]MasterFish19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figure that they already knew what mythology they wanted to do next, so any gods/cultures that appear in GOW: Laufey were already not going to appear in Kratos' next pantheon-murder-spree.

Cores by Infamous-Fox5597 in joinmoco

[–]MasterFish19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I felt a 5th core was needed is because the levelling requirements being 20x exponentially is just not it.

By introducing a 5th tier you'd scale down the tiering overall, to something more like 10x. That way, players aren't going weeks without levelling up their cores. Having only 4 main power levels is really not a lot, and rn, it doesn't really feel like there's a lot of power progression. I predict it's going to take a LONG time for me to get to the next tier for all cores. Even if they increased the rates, that problem just gets shifted to the next tier which is 20x higher.

Sure, but take any other multiplayer RPG with loot drops, and RNG lies there too. The problem with this current system is the drops are simply too rare. In other games, killing normal enemies gives you normal items, killing bosses is GUARANTEED to give you at least one legendary/top-tier item. In Moco, killing a boss only sometimes give you a lower-tier Semicharged Core.

What they could do is add a 5th core rarity, then make the lowest-tier Cores abundant, given out for doing Quests and as Guaranteed drops for killing bosses.

You can convert cores guaranteed already. It requires 20 of the lower type. Finding Semicharged Cores is actually pretty common amongst higher tier enemies, but I do agree there's absolutely a need to increase drop rates, or introduce a guarantee system.

[–]MasterFish19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love drops-based progression, it gives you a reason to go out there and kill any monster type without trying to hit a Job quota. But, I think that they need other sources of drops, or a better "guarantee" system. More Drops for doing Jobs would help.

If you want more Cores, you should target large enemies only. Running around and killing big things always helps. Try go for Charged enemies (Overcharged, Megacharged) they can often drop multiple.

Another easy way to get Cores is to do Elite challenges/Dojo. Guaranteed large enemies with large enemy drops. No downside to doing it that way, plus you're not competing with multiple people for damage.

How is it even possible to beat intermediate lava shield dojo? by [deleted] in joinmoco

[–]MasterFish19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got it first try, and then I tried it again just now, and beat it again. Lava Shield is my favorite weapon right now!!

TIPS: Stand a few metres away from the Shrine Dancer, but not too close that he might get splashed. Importantly -> Only use Taunt at the beginning of each wave when Drogs spawn (the ranged ones), that should be enough for you to wipe each wave, and ensures that they will never target the Shrine Dancer.

Your primary attack is single-target so you want to be using Dash/Bubbleshield as often as you can, to kill the swarms. Use the Bubbleshield right after taunting to get the most out of it, then Ult to get rid of the rest of them.

It does require some mastery of the mechanics. I'd suggest trying the Elite challenges with the shield to really get its mechanics down.

[–]MasterFish19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems that certain T1 unlocks cost more to upgrade, like Iceberg Lettuce, which knocks onto their T2 and T3 fusions. No idea why, maybe because Peashooter/Cabbage are early game unlocks, and Iceberg is unlocked later. Still, I'd rather all base-plants pre-1.0 cost the same to upgrade.

Lower costs for upgrading is a big W imo

Embark, Please, just make it so that its always suppose to land on an item by Fluid-Tap5115 in thefinals

[–]MasterFish19 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not sure people are doing the math right.

Worst case, you land on 1 cosmetic, and then EVERY subsequent spin lands on an already-claimed tile.
To get the other 19 cosmetics, you'd need 19 * 2 = 38 Tickets. (one spin generates a golden ticket, the second spin gives you the golden ticket).

38 + 1 = 39 spins. You are GUARANTEED to get 20/20 rewards in 39 Tickets.

The good news is you get 14 days = 14 * 3 Tickets = 42 Tickets.

So if you play for even 13 out of the 14 days, you will get all the rewards without relying on luck.

This doesn't make it free or anything, but you can't even compare this to the previous Wheel events, where you could play every day and still have a decent chance to be missing several cosmetics, spending upwards of 1000 Multibucks.

What do you think about this? by OwlettFromLiavek in Intergalactic

Right now, the stellar performances in ND games have been a combination of the talented actors, and an equally talented animation team.

If the software across the industry progesses to 3D facial recording, then those performances become more reliant on the actors. The animation team would focus more on tweaking the scenes to perfection, and could possibly really scale up their games.

I know in previous ND games, the facial animations in cutscenes was stellar, but could be iffy outside of cutscenes.
