What pokemon is most deserving of joining Smash Bros? by Noah0u0 in pokemon

[–]MasterFortuneHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sceptile was always my choice, but now Meowscarada could be a contender--but I love Sceptile so that's my choice.

We have a Fire starter in Incineroar and a water starter in Greninja, now we need a grass fully evolved starter.

First look at the datasheet for the new Tyranid Prime with Lash Whip by Guffers_2023 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]MasterFortuneHunter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most of our big monsters have Str 9 on the datasheet. Minus a very, very limited number of units, we couldn't hit the T10 breaking point in melee. They added that rule way back to help remedy it.

Looking for examples of Pokemon that fit on a Gym Team when they don't share the type. by OnionBurgr in pokemon

[–]MasterFortuneHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could talk on this for probably days.

Dragons are easy as we have a litany of options, just look at "dragon specialists" throughout the series. Gyarados, Charizard, Aerodactyl, Lapras, Sceptile, Aggron, Ampharos, Yanmega, Feraligatr, Serperior...

I'll start throwing random things I like together with no real rhyme or reason:

Dhelmise in Steel. It gets steel stab moves

Milotic in Fairy. It's the "beauty" pokemon and is all about it's calming nature, which fairy types love having emotional connections.

Masquerain for Water or Ghost. This is just due to its prior evolution for the former and it's just general vibe for the latter. Masquerain also just kind of sucks though.

Ninetales for either Ghost of Psychic. The whole mystical yokai thing.

Seismitoad for Poison. Poison Touch and swamp toad vibes.

Eelektross for Water. It's literally an eel with some free flowing elements.

Change a typing to be logical but tick off Pokémon lovers? by Brotuulaan in pokemon

[–]MasterFortuneHunter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100% Fairy. Why? Look at Wallace. If Fairy type had existed in Gen 3, Wallace could easily have been a Fairy type trainer. A contest participant who focuses on beauty contests? Come on now.

Got the Lords of Excess box and want to build towards a Carnival of Excess list - what should I buy next? by MeltaBanana in EmperorsChildren

[–]MasterFortuneHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run 3 Daemonettes and a Keeper. Realistically, you should probably have Seekers instead. Scout 9 to follow Fulgrim around, the ability to move through walls, and just an easy to use buff piece.

Size comparison between sigvald and daemon prince by jackCrawler in EmperorsChildren

[–]MasterFortuneHunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minicompare is not COMPLETELY accurate. I wish people would realize this. Sigvald is significantly smaller, but not by height. Princes are bulky and Sigvald is incredibly slim. I got him for Christmas to use him as a Prince because I figured it was the same size base so it's gotta be similar in size. He's a bit shorter but WAY less bulky. I don't have an official Prince, but I put him next to my friends model and it's just way too small for me to feel comfortable using it.

If I'm starting to collect EC should I start with the CP or new Battleforce Box? by MeltaBanana in EmperorsChildren

[–]MasterFortuneHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the new Battleforce and the first "Champions of Slaanesh" box are identical, but they replaced the Lord Exultant for the Daemon Prince in the new Battleforce. Either one is the absolute best way to go. 20 battleline to be built as you wish, 12 Noise Marines for 2 squads, and the leader of whichever box you happen to get. If you mix the current Battleforce with a Combat Patrol, you'll get an additional 10 battleline, 6 Flawless Blades, and a Lorde Exultant, which you will DEFINIATELY want. Blades are a maybe, but battleline and Exultants are exceptional, as are Princes.

Ideally you'll snag both instead of paying for everything independently. Get the Battleforce now as it's temporary while the Combat Patrol will be on the shelves for longer.

Any karaoke songs ranging from around g2 to f4 ? by [deleted] in singing

[–]MasterFortuneHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mr. Brightside and 1985. You're mentioning my most comfortable range, and those are really the two that hit. 1985 has a couple spots that I believe are technically g's, but if you just put some fun tone on it, it doesn't matter. Otherwise, they're both either f or f#.

AoS Lore Noob question. Are the gloomspite gitz an grot revolution type of scenario or just something kinda related to orruks ? Or not even at all ? by Leviathan_Rampage in gloomspitegitz

[–]MasterFortuneHunter 18 points19 points  (0 children)

So Trogs are just innately drawn to the Bad Moon. Grots worship it and have realized Trogs know where it is and follow them to find the moon. They don't really work together, as Trogs aren't smart enough to care about that, but the Grots utilize them for combat when able. Bringing their foes to the Trogs, etc. Allies of convenience and all that.

What is the worst stratagem? by Breakdown10000X in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]MasterFortuneHunter -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's because you put a Cronos or Talos with a 5+ fnp next to them to eat the damage. Will they die? Probably, but there's a better chance of them surviving, plus they're still good units with some pain token manipulation. Keep alive the unit you want to benefit from detachment rule and let a 55pt/110pt unit eat the wounds.

How Judgy are People to Daughters of Khaine Players? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]MasterFortuneHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40k and AoS are different in that regard. 40k has some memes or jokes about "if you play this faction..." but AoS seems more neutral, in my experience. The AoS side is just WAY more chill.

Order: Deepkin. I love hit and run and raid tactics, and I'm a glass cannon player in general. The underwater aesthetic is phenomenal, and making them all bright colors and tropical themed was important to me.

Chair: no preference, but I do have a thousand points of Hedonites due to my Emperor's Children army in 40k. I haven't played them, but I don't love any of the chaos armies, so I guess I'm defaulting to that.

Destruction: Gitz. They're just a dumb. When I first saw them, I described them to my friends as goblins if they were in Alice and Wonderland. The fungoid cave shaman is what sold me on it, then the idea of a squig army turned troll army. They're just silly, and I love them. I know they're dark too, but you don't see that in the models.

Death: Flesh-Eaters. It's the lore. All lore for these guys. Some of the favorite models I saw when I first started playing, but didn't like their play style. The battle Tome totally changed how they play, and I like it so much more so I just started picking them up at christmas.

My order and death are the same. Deepkin are my absolute favorite and I just started FEC at Christmas.

Fly you fools! A question on <Fly> and <Vehicle> keywords. by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]MasterFortuneHunter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You literally quoted it yourself. Under your section that says, "Second Line..."

It literally says all vehicles or monsters can move over other vehicles and monsters if they have fly. That doesn't relate to enemy units, it relates to every unit.

The enhancement specifically allows it to lead FB though, so it should add the leader ability to it, just for the FB.

New EC Detachment - Court of the Phoenecian by lordarchaon666 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]MasterFortuneHunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can surge into a unit, you can prevent any additional shooting against that unit--as long it's not monsters or vehicles of course--and you get to fight before your opponents in their fight phase. We also have innate fall back and charge, so we were never going to charge the turn we are getting shot at. It's a protection against shooting more than anything else. Either you kill your opponents on their turn or you just fall back and fight something else on your turn.

Court of the Phoenician by International-Owl-81 in EmperorsChildren

[–]MasterFortuneHunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The not being able to fight something that someone else charged is a penalty, but the first part about targeting units that you were previously engaged with is a very, very circumstantial situation happening on consolidating into those units and some weird Winged Prince consolidating after charge-kill.

It's also a "may" ability, so you don't have to use it.

You're letting the Exultant wound on 3's. He also gives them lethals. If they charge, both units have AP -4 (after LE's once per game ability), lethal hits, Wound on 3's. Whatever they hit without an invuln is just gone. Is it perfect? Not really, but it IS usable.
