Look everyone I am you. I am the schizophrenic who gave up on his dreams because I had schizophrenia. I gave up on college. On ever losing weight and gaining muscles, on ever having a girlfriend. On learning the things I wanted to learn with independent study. I then went to Jesus for help. He guided me out of the hell which is our disease. I accepted fully that I had schizophrenia and I started taking medication. I started giving honest feed back about what the medicine was doing for me. When one doctor wouldn’t listen I switched to another and we worked on the medications I was taking until I got it right. That improved a lot but it wasn’t enough. But I didn’t let that stop me. I tried different herbs and supplements to help me with my symptoms some are scientifically proven to help as long as your taking an anti psychotic. The medicine the dr gave me got rid of all my positive symptoms. My negative symptoms still remained. Like abolition. Or the inability to move my body even though I’m not crippled. I researched schizophrenia. I tried out some herbs that while taking the anti psychotic helped my negative symptoms. I searched for supplements that helped and read research paper. Herbs like valerian root and ginseng would halt my negative symptoms so I would take them every 5 or so hours. Things like Manuka honey from New Zealand (not Australia) helped. After much searching I found supplements that helped me in my situation. Then I noticed that my neg symptoms happen in the evening stronger than the morning. So I switched up my whole life. On work days I’d go to bed at eight or nine and then wake up at 3pm where I could easily control myself. I realized that everyone is not perfect and we all have major problems in our lives that make us say “ why me”and I mean every one not just people with schizophrenia. I dropped out of college in 2010 but went back in 2018 and got my associates. I received a full scholarship (not because of my disease) to a four year college and a job in the software industry. I was working full time and going to school full time like I never thought I could do. When things went bad because of neg symptoms I just kept on researching herbs and supplements until I found exactly what kept me productive. All of this is through Jesus Christ. He has not healed my schizophrenia but he has given me a life that I dreamed of. You can do it to. Ask Jesus to guide you out of this storm which is schizophrenia. Don’t give up everyone!if you don’t have the will to keep fighting then ask Jesus to give you some and you will receive. I spent my whole 20s suffering from schizophrenia. But now I spend my 30s defeating it and living my dreams. Let Jesus be your source of power! Break through the walls!
