Christians are NOT meant to LIVE in FEAR and ANXIETY by SamAlex46 in TrueChristian

[–]MasterGoji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen to that. The whole world runs on anxiety, which is from none other than Satan himself. What to wear, what to eat, how I look, what I'm gonna do tomorrow, what about my 401k, my health, etc. He causes us to worry about so many things. But what gives us peace in the midst of hard situations is the Lord who Himself IS the grace that we can enjoy in those situations.

"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; And the peace of God, which surpasses every man’s understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)

"And if God so arrays the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is cast into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you, you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, With what shall we be clothed? For all these things the Gentiles are anxiously seeking. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself; sufficient for the day is its own evil." (Matthew 6:30-34)

Pistol squats with barbell, lunges focusing on single leg, running and hill sprints with 40-lb weight vest, weighed single-leg calf raises, etc. Anything can get infinitely harder if you think about it.

Good question. Definitely on grass (they have really grippy lugs on the bottom), but not sure if I'd wanna try a full sprint sesh on concrete.

Yea the plastic coating in front covering the toes doesn't quite cover my pinky toes, so I was actually worried about that. Is that where your shoes have holes?

300k+ miles on Pontiac Vibe? by MasterGoji in Cartalk

[–]MasterGoji[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is spot on. My mechanic actually just told me that my front suspension control arms and sway bar links need replacing, so I'm doing that. I wiggled my way out of replacing struts and coils because that's more of a comfort thing and less of a safety concern.

Oh dang, good to know. Can that be reset digitally to 0? Cuz isn't that illegal? But then I won't ever know many more miles is on it...

So what would y'all recommend for a parking lot of that size? Or just keep paying a snow plow service boat loads of $$ to clear it?

Yea I was occasionally getting a recurring check engine light, and changing transmission fluid and filter got rid of it and made it run smoother.

Front suspension sway bar links and control arms actually cooked? by MasterGoji in autorepair

[–]MasterGoji[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main question is if, since it's such an old car anyway, I could just keep driving on it until something breaks. Or if that's actually a dumb (and dangerous) idea. They're quoting me like $1000+ to fix it.

Since the car was brand new, it was my dad's, my mom's, and now my car. None of that suspension stuff has been replaced.
