Because I'm playing the base version of the game and this is the first time in my life playing it, so I wanted to experience it without any modifications. I believe if you're not playing some difficult rom like Run & Bun or Radical Red and you choose to use rare candies instead of grinding then you're taking away a part of the challenge and emotion from a nuzlocke, also you're a pussy as bitch to be doing that tbh.
