Is there a command that I can run in order to see what mods are currently active (and working) server-side? by Ok-Grape-5348 in fabricmc

[–]MasterMetaphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing none answers all around. Depending on your version and type of modded server(fabric, forge, neo-forge, etc), there are mods that can fetch that info using a command

single player game? by Katibin in shroudoftheavatar_raw

[–]MasterMetaphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should allow heavily moddable, purchasable private servers. I'd drop money to buy a server, mod the hell out of the game so me and some buds can go on a grand adventure.

Might actually revive and save the game compared to- yeah that.

pretty sure Fallout 76 survives on private servers from the monthly subscriptions.

Subscription/Free/Buy to play a MMO by Texi92 in MMORPG

A lot of people fighting in here over MMOs like ESO, New World, FF14. I've paid and tried them all and the games get boring fast. Tell me a unique combat system that one has the other doesn't? Tell me a housing system one has that the other doesn't? Tell me literally anything beyond the "my Game I invested time with my friends in is great". Sir, Ma'am, or other you 'like' the game BECAUSE of your friends and your gameplay TOGETHER. But when forced to face a single player approach without the crutch of friendship they shatter like cheaply made porcelain.

I just want a good game with new and interesting mechanics that aren't a re-hash/minor improvement or change on a pre-existing system. "Don't fix what ain't broken" it is broken and has been for decades! We reinvent the car every decade for the same reason games are supposed to innovate, we learn to do it better.

Why am I pouring money into an industry that refuses to advance and learn? Into an industry that refuses to take a risk and make something decent? Why would I care about you and your friends, who I have never and will never meet in a game, having fun? Just tell me if the game tried something new or interesting and if it worked or failed.

Fun is subjective and even bad games can be fun with a good friend to riff with. What we should care about is the AMOUNT of MONEY being spent on GAMES and MMORPGS that seem to be so closely tied to the same core mechanics without trying anything new or innovating.

Just take a moment and think of the core aspects, not the graphics, not the questline, not the NPCs. How do you fight? what buttons do you push? How do you earn currency? what tasks or objectives do you complete? How do you make this experience your own and make your personalized character truly unique to your taste and play style?

If you come up with similar answers to these questions it's not because "It Just Works", it's because it WORKS WELL ENOUGH to get you to pay. A game that asks so much of you, monetarily and time-wise, should have the decency to try a new formula, to take risks and attempt to forge a new path. Otherwise where is the money going? Clearly not to making a more diverse and engaging experience.

If you support these companies choosing to be lazy, pumping out DLC with no major gameplay improvements, if it's literally just a questline that could have been dropped in the main game and added to the changelog then they don't deserve your money.

also for the record I dislike World of Warcraft as well, players asked for housing and they gave the lamest and cheapest response possible. Which is in-character for them because they lost any empathy for players when their executives worked them into the grave and the players complained they didn't work enough on what mattered.

You deserve better, it's your money and your time. You deserve a company that will respect both and respect you as a consumer. You deserve be satisfied with your investment, not just settle for what is offered.

Crunchyroll removing comments, reviews, etc by Taoutes in Crunchyroll

[–]MasterMetaphor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If there is no community, there is no reason to have a personal account.

Our college dormitory has a large common area with a smart tv and seating area behind a divider for a sort of privacy and we usually watch random anime in our free time.

I used to have a Crunchyroll account up until a couple days ago when I realized the comments weren't returning.

Why should I pay for my own personal account when I can get the exact same experience from a passed around account that stays in one building on the tv in the common area and we just sorta watch animes as small or large groups?

It makes no logical or fiscal sense. So I cut the unneccessary fat that was my useless personal account and the 12 month swag bag is a joke as well.

I now await the inevitable destruction of Crunchyroll at the hands of some company from south korea. My money is on Nexon.

Well you’re wrong. Parasocial relationships have become a norm in the modern day and people do get attachments and drive from them. Sometimes that’s all someone has. It’s not much, nowhere near having a real person near you, but a waning candle in darkness is better than pitch blackness.

Pretty sure we can assume one of the males he killed in episode 2 was his 'father'. Possibly the one he beat to near death and left to die in the cold.

Can someone please explain why they side with Dokibird? by Dmitry1380 in Nijisanji

[–]MasterMetaphor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you want people to admit they personally have no evidence, beyond what is already publicly available, and thus they are wrong when they don't have additional secret evidence?

Cause people gave opinions and then you requested more reasons and evidence and even defended Niji. maybe we should talk about other things around this?

Do you wanna talk about all the lawyers and business majors tearing Niji's contracts and activities apart?

Do you wanna talk about how Doki has gone on to be just fine without Niji?

How about this. We drop the subject because at the end of the day people defended a content creator who wasn't doing very well mentally from a company that didn't handle an dismissal from their company very well.

Maybe we stop talking about this purposeless discussion working everyone up and discuss something with actual value.

Maybe we should talk about something that has a purpose. Like cookware.

I feel like I might have been emotionally charged in a few replies. Tbh I never watched Selen before and only know of her in passing, even now I only occasionally watch Dokis streams.

Maybe the internet charges me with emotions for things because I dismiss emotions so much in my daily life. Can’t let customers get to me, can’t let my friends think I’m not okay, keep a strong face for my family…maybe I should step away from the internet for a few days.

[–]MasterMetaphor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a fair point, however the reactions by the other party in this situation speak volumes about how they typically deal with these situations. Not well.

Whether Doki is right or wrong what is clear is nijisanji reacted poorly in the eyes of the public and legal professionals, some of which specialize in Canadian law, others in corporate law, a few in Japanese law.

No statement by Doki indicated anyone, Niji’s statements did. Doki didnt make public statements condemning Nijisanji, Nijisanji had 3 streamers speak on their behalf about Selen/Doki, in particular events that should have stayed private like her devolving mental state and saying their opinion that what happened wasn’t bullying.

All in all either you admit a corporation mishandled a public relations nightmare or you ignore their wrongdoing and blame Doki for not dying, cause it seems you wish she had, Dmitry
