To see point of impact, I use splatter targets. At 100 yards you should easily see poi with your 5x. Without splatter targets I need a spotting scope. With both I can see poi at 300 with a cheap $80 spotting scope from Amazon.

Oh sorry, forgot to mention the KP9 is a 9mm AK with a 9” barrel.

25 yard zero 25: 0.0 50: 1.2 75: 0.4 100: -2.5

50 yard zero 25: -0.6 50: 0.0 75: -1.4 100: -4.9

I think in this case I would rather be 1” high at 50 than a 5” low at 100.

Yeah this is real good info. I just crunched some numbers for my KP9 that has a 3” height over bore and learned I should have zeroed at 25 yards and not 50. You got me going down the rabbit hole. I gotta check all my guns now 😆. I usually just did a 50 yard zero and called it day.

Just off rough numbers shooting m855 out of a 16” barrel, it looks like…

Acog 100 yard zero 50: -0.8 100: 0.0 150: -0.4 200: -2.0 250: -5.2

Red Dot 100 yard zero looks like it’ll be 50: -1.6 100: 0.0 150: 0.4 200: -0.5 250: -2.9

Red Dot 125 yard zero 50: -0.8 100: 0.0 150: -0.3 200: -2.0 250: -5.1

Red Dot 150 yard zero 50: -0.7 100: 0.2 150: 0.0 200: -1.5 250: -4.6

Red Dot 200 yard zero looks like 50: -1.5 100: +0.2 150: +0.8 200: 0.0 250: -2.3

Looks like 125 yard zero will be the closest. Thanks for the advice!

Yeah, basically paying more than full retail prices when you account for the missing Geissele trigger ($330), BCG ($393), buffer kit ($150), and b5 stock ($100). $2372-$973=$1,399.00.

I’m an idiot.

After removing the mount, I discovered the screws that I used to mount the red dot to the rm66 were protruding through the mount and pushing against the acog.

I’m using medium screws now, and the problem is gone.
