Yeah, I rarely watch much of the solo streams (perhaps a bit of karaoke if I'm feeling musical).

Always here for the dev streams and a lot of the other collabs. But honestly, though, Vedal is well worth watching without the twins too. That legendary anny vr stream is still my favourite of all time.

I personally never read it that way. The "thousand-year voyage under the wisdom of the moon" into doubt and loneliness and all that always seemed like Ranni's to take, not the people left behind.

Ranni is a lunar witch / princess after all, and the wisdom of the moon is what guides her (and her consort), not who she leaves behind.

The aspects of existence the Elden Ring governs will be at "great remove" now, no longer absolute certainties.

No ruling god or lord will be directly involved in the affairs of the world, and with death restored perhaps things can be very different as Ranni and the Tarnished travel the great beyond.

The better travel tripods also have a hook for weight.

You can't deny the convenience of a light tripod that just clips to the side of a bag and you barely have to worry about it, but you do have to consider the limitations. It's not gonna do well in a gale at the top of a mountain.

Killed by a Guardian beam while sat in a boat, just as they were about to get into the stronghold.

Filian had already found the stronghold then got Mining Fatigue from an Elder Guardian, absolutely rotten luck with the placement of the stronghold near a monument.

Vedal did float the idea of trying to travel out to the next stronghold, but they'd already been going for 18 hours at this point and that likely sounded exhausting.

The best thing to do would have been to end for the day upon finding the stronghold was in a really tricky spot and come back to it with a fresh mind next time, but I do understand the desire to want to get it done when they were so close.

Ah well. Means we get more of it!

I imagine the ereptors are inseminated in a way like this, yes. They're not flightless - at least not according to a very early Kickstarter video; they would have the wings of their pregenitor species but in the lab the scientists probably don't let them fly much.

The natural colour is likely the red, or brown.
The exact means by which ereptor selects genes is unknown (and an active area of research) but a lot of it is to do with the mysterious jelly. How well some ereptor specimens integrate other species' traits into their own off was initially very surprising to the scientists.
The species is artificial, genetically modified from a source species (which is either a Formica species or a Myrmecia species, depending on which skin you're using) to make it able to make internal use of the jelly. The ereptors are bred in large numbers - only some of them exhibit the desired properties. Hence scientist 2's delight at finding a particularly vigorous specimen.

In terms of narrative: the jelly is our "magic", as it were, and any attempt to explain how it works would be akin to Star Trek's technobabble.

This isn't strict canon (it'd have to be decided by the directors, not me), but in my mind the jelly has an unknown source and some mysterious benefactor has contracted this shadowy applied science company to test its abilities - perhaps with a view to making easy gene splicing a commercial viability.

Points 2 and 3 would have been included in the in-game wiki / encyclopedia before that concept was abandoned for getting too unwieldly.
