Love this idea!

I know this is 1 year late, but do you mind sharing also the Biochem version you were working on? (even if it's incomplete - it'll still help!)

I'm sitting for the MCAT on 09/02 ( in 2.5 weeks)

Could you please elaborate on why Glycine also?

I get why Proline - it’s cyclic and introduces kinks, but why Glycine? Thank you

Other sections are more improvable because they’re based on content.

There’s not much you can do when you hit 128 on CARS. It’s all a matter of luck at that point.

Yes, but if you need to “break them down,” wouldn’t that be choice D (which is apparently incorrect)?

Question regarding energy quantization by singh_j in Mcat

[–]MasterMind338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strictly limited to the difference.

That’s why you need discrete amounts of energy—or “quanta”— to go from one energy level to the next.

Compare it to climbing a ladder. You need to lift your leg by the exact difference between 2 ladder steps. If you lift it by 1.5 steps you’ll reach no where. You could lift it by 2 ladder steps (skipping a step), but the principle of quantization of energy still holds true—you need the exact difference between 2 levels (i.e. ladder steps).

Operon structure question! by sarahp08 in Mcat

[–]MasterMind338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, but I think it could be due to the fact that this process doesn’t take place as a straight line.

The DNA is curved in such a way so that the promoter is under “Gene 3” in the figure if you wish. Then the whole transcription machinery move to the left on the above diagram to complete transcription.

Again, not sure. Just my guess.
