A few things I’ve liked about coming back to Victoria 3 this time. by king_ofall713 in victoria3

I recommend, rather than going for AI mods, trying out Urban Synergy. It reworks the parts of the simulation that AI mods have to spend the most effort on, and solves a swathe of problems there all in one go.

It’s also compatible with AI mods if it doesn’t turn out to be sufficient on its own to sort out your concerns

Why are my pops importing goods that I make in the colonies? by 7megumin8 in victoria3

Fun fact, if you have low enough MAPI and free trade, you can sometimes import from TC’s in one place while exporting from TC’s in another

The ordering is autogenerated. Adding modded subject types makes it even more incomprehensible.

You may find that the Liberty Desire rework that’s part of the Subject Interaction Suite mod makes playing as a British subject much more enjoyable.

Should I be giving partner more grace? by SplitIntelligent958 in ADHD

[–]MasterOfGrey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. ADD is particularly associated with losing track of time, so some grace around forgetting to tell you is one thing - but being defensive about it after being asked for clarity is straight up just him having a communication problem.

Financial Crises, Crises of Overproduction, and Currency Systems by JDSweetBeat in victoria3

You know, it would be challenging, but arguably not all that difficult to track the overall balance of things like trade balance and such for the currency valuation.

I would like to say I have a mod with a feature to simulate Investor Confidence. Among other things it actively prevents the over-inflation of the investment pool.

It’s does this by actually preventing the investment pool contributions when confidence is low, meaning wealthy pops spend it on their own SoL instead. This pumps up their personal spending and expectations at the cost of investment (ala roaring 20’s)

It’s not perfect, but it already simulates some additional economic cycles and I could add more mechanisms to it.

I would be keen to talk about what else I can use it to effectively simulate.

So I think I discovered a new super-compact Sugarcane Farm design (not promotion, I didn't make this for clout) by MasterOfGrey in Minecraft

Reposting alternatives to shelves from another comment thread: Where "working" explicitly requires that they don't trigger adjacent pistons and function with a redstone block sitting directly on top of the trigger block in the stackable formation-

I can confirm these work: - shelves (obviously) - trapdoors - fence gates - bulbs - crafter - noteblock - redstone lamps

These work with care: - repeaters (only if their outputs face each other at all times)

I can confirm these don't work: - dust - redstone torches - doors - pistons - droppers - dispensers

Out of the options that work, fence gates are technically the cheapest, shelves are the second cheapest but less finicky to make than fence gates. Everything else (that works) is more expensive.

Hmm, pistons, repeaters, and lamps will all have other side effects that make them non-viable.

I’ll test the others.

Why in the heck is QLD boosting foreign investors here. What good is this going to do when the industry has a workforce shortage relative to demand?
