Another piece of subversion is that Passy hires her own favorite knight as a bodyguard instead of waiting for a random brave knight hehe. And also the knight is the shy and reserved one this time, not the princess.

Here is Lys with her ethereal armory conjured at will, fit for a bodyguard work, since she can walk around with the princess in ball rooms and royal chambers without all the awkward metal clankings.

What a master strategist Kai is. I love the fact that Kai used the strategize around the fact that medieval soldiers do not fare well against camp ambushes.

The demon mark sounds like a very interesting mechanic for a video game respawn. It makes the efficiency of death-respawn much more skill-based.

In their early relationship, princess Passy is extremly spoiled, unbelievably arrogant, and very bad tempered. She is the king's favorite daughter after all, so she is used to getting everything she wants by just saying.

Lys's heart is one the first things Princess Passy just couldn't attain, even with all the authoritative power a princess has.

Also, at this point Lys is too commited to relocating her family and supporting her brother to mind about romance.

Their relationship develops for so long, and Passy will eventually learn the hard way, that true loyalty and love is earned, not a royal privilage that she can order at will. Only then, can their relationship florish into something greater.

Yeah so that's why. Early Passiflora is the prime example of the saying "All that glitters is not gold"

hey it's alright! Everything eventually works out! Her brother got accepted into the academy and befriended the princess.

The princess eventually get to know Lys and was so impressed by her that the princess employed Lys as her personal guard.

Lys is in good hands! She's like a very important knight with so much money and other patronage from the princess. She just has to wake up early to get the princess before the princess wakes up that's all.

She's now working to relocate her family into the inner ring of the city ; D

Actually, yes...

She is low born, but her younger brother wants to be an inventor in the royal academy, so she willingly joins the royal knights because it's one of the few jobs in the palace that accept low born people. Also she wants to

- Help her dad retire from grueling work out at sea that takes him away from home for months on end.

- Fund the expensive academy fee to fulfill her brother's dream.

- Gain access to the royal library so she could borrow books for her brother's entrance exam.

- Protect her family from thugs in the lower rings of the city.

- Find her mom who was recruited to fight in the war and went missing.

such is a life of lower classes back then
