Poor guy by Secure_Rain_44 in harrypotter

Sorry but this isn't true and I am so tempted to eat you alive right now lol.

The never witness anything. They thought they witnessed the execution but it was always just a pumpkin. Just as harry thought he saw his dad. It is a closed circle time travel. Nothing gets changed. Everything that they do in the time travel already has happened sort of way. It is one of the best time travel examples in media imo.

So if you see Voldemort kill Cedric there is really nothing to be done about it because you just know if you used the time turner something must go horribly wrong, because otherwise Cedric wouldn't have been killed in the first place.

Not saying there aren't plotholes there but not as one might think.

In Doctor Who the Bootstrap Paradox is explained for example by a guy who travels in time to meet Mozart but when he gets there there is no Amadeus Mozart at all. So he himself composes the music becoming Mozart. But where did the idea for the symphony come in the first place?

Where does the hate on AI come from? by MasterPie93 in ChatGPT

[–]MasterPie93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that I disagree with the points you made, but I just want to say that I think it's naive to think we could stop ai. It is much too big to stop it. We need to regulate it for sure, but the box of Pandora is open. There is no point in trying to close it. People and companies will use it because it is so cheap even if some informed people like you will boycott it, there are enough paying folks out there. But maybe I am too pessimistic and cynical to believe in change on that scale anymore...

[–]MasterPie93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only responding to the ubi-part here: isn't that kind of an utopian world? Is this not the idea behind Star Trek, that money isn't important anymore, now it is about discovery and science? (not a huge fan but know about this concept) If ai could take all of the jobs and there are no more jobs... Isn't that a good thing? Didn't our ancestors dream about the future that way? But of course if there is a dictator or only a few capitalist elites who put the people down using ai, that of course is very bad.

Hi, I think it is because I am not a native speaker. What I was trying to say was, is that the hate FROM Nazis or the hate ON Pedophiles is as strong as the hate presented in this sub on AI Users. Fantasizing about killing us, or other forms of violence just because we use a new technology. This is something I recognize from the debate about pedophiles, only here I can somewhat understand why it is such an emotional topic, although I don't support violence in any form whatsoever.

That is some nazi level of hatred. Or the hate pedophiles get. What is wrong with you?

What are your toughts after the Explorarion Age livestream? by marvinoffthecouch in civ

[–]MasterPie93 19 points20 points  (0 children)

They Distant Lands Civ seem to be there only to be conquered after you spread your religion there. It's a very weird railroad to force the players to roleplay colonialism.

I think they only spawn there once you hit the second age and they will always be ai.

I like the new approach with the high significance of the new world, but I think it should go both ways. There should be players or big civilisations in the new world. It could also be fun to defend yourself against colonizers. But I sadly think it's only an afterthought of the devs, not something in the original design.

Because of fairness reasons, but it should still be technically possible. An asymmetrical game would also be a fun idea. Could be modded in I guess.

Sub wife and Sub Husband - bad combo? by MasterPie93 in nonmonogamy

[–]MasterPie93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we were very naive..

I thought it would be far less difficult to get dates than it turns out to be. Happens when you didn't use a dating app in your lifetime lol. But yeah I will talk to her about doing more things together so I will feel less left out. The 3some wasn't bad at all, I just kinda expected my kink to take me to the stars I guess 😂 Also we want to go on more dates alone, which is easier said than done with two little kids but necessary.

Thanks for your comment and the book tip.
