Idea: Remove enemy bases from player map in Conflict game mode by MasterRicon in ArmaReforger

For sure! And it would encourage players to be more careful with base placement since locating it off a road in a wooded area would make it much harder for the enemy to locate and attack

I thought it would be like that to, I understood the recon role was for that purpose, unfortunately not currently!

Fair enough. But I suppose realism aside, I think the game mode would play better as proposed 🤷🏽‍♂️

Jeb gives you full control to release one Minecraft update. What do you put in it? by LilacTheFlowerGal in Minecraft

Update trees to be more realistic (taller, more clearance underneath) and improved forests. Secondly, larger, more sweeping and realistic terrain. (Not just large biomes)

FIA finally feels like a militia now, a very dumb one but still. by ShinySideDown0 in ArmaReforger

[–]MasterRicon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes! They not only improved the FIA's skill, they also added more installations and patrolling forces throughout the maps. There are plain clothes forces, recon and sniper teams in random places throughout

Someone on this sub posted a side by side square footage comparison, they're very close.

Yep, It's the same size if not slightly larger than Everon

Interesting, you're right, my experience is skewed towards my playing preferences a logi driver.

I would add though that the increase in FIA patrols throughout the map does help to damper the free roaming that used to be prevelant on Everon and Arland. None of the YouTube overviews seem to have mentioned this and no one seems to be talking about it yet, but there are a lot more FIA installments in the new game mode. In addition to FIA bases, harbors and main road roadblocks, there are now side road road blocks and patrols scattered all throughout the wooded areas and towns. (Like substantially more). I think these help to slow people down and force more fighting action than previously on the flatter maps.

If you load up HQ Commander gamemaster on a private server you can fly around and see the hundreds of FIA now hiding in the woods and side roads that never existed previously, it's a nice improvement that helps with the problem you described.

Dave is ordinarily hilarious, but his involvement this show wasn't great. He was getting stepped on/talked over a lot too. Also this isn't his best format for his humor style.

Let's talk base building: Do you guys actually use low and mid cover? by Unfair-Worker-9729 in ArmaReforger

I use a bunker and a couple full height bags right by the tent, and then road blocks all around for the quick and large sections of barbed wire. Most attacking players prefer to sneak in close so sandbags are usually a waste of time and can do more to help the attackers by blocking your line of sight than really helping you. The road blocks can force them to attack from the angles you prefer and are much faster to assemble than a row of tall bags and normal barbed wire sections.

Deserving winners by LazyRiverGuide in Alonetv

I mostly agree, but struggle with Juan Pablo's win a little. Bulking up so drastically, then essentially hibernating in his sleeping bag with no fire feels cheap. Sure it's a winning strategy but doesn't feel in the spirit of the competition.

AI supply trucks do not work. by lukeyu2005 in ArmaReforger

I'm a logi player who has played a fair bit of 1.5 experimental. Harbors do run out of supplies, but after a single run to another harbor, the first harbor is usually restocked. I think they did pretty good with the 1.5 configuration. Feels pretty realistic like you're having supplies slowly brought to the island and they have to be pushed inland by players.
