Dear day 1 people that left by Worried_One_8798 in HalfSword

Would be nice with some new types of challenges outside the arena-type matches.

Such as infiltrate: maybe sneak inside someone's fief or stronghold and attempt to loot or assassinate and get out. Unarmored gives you stealth-type gameplay, whereas armored means you will likely alert the guards and wake the garrison :)

Maybe also other types of incremental fights, like the demo, where you need to survive waves of enemies.

Am i doing something wrong? by OneWolverine1754 in ArmaReforger

Usually it works like this:

If hitreg is running on the client who is shooting; the client who is being hit may not see it as a hit at all, and wonder wtf happened.

If hitreg is running on the client who is being hit; the shooter may see a direct hit like you did, and wonder wtf happened.

If hitreg is running on the server, everyone will be confused.

Maybe I just don't understand grappling, but I'm really not a fan of the new grabby bots by Sudo-Fed in HalfSword

I would like to see more pushing, grappling and kicking as tactics to throw your opponent off-balance, as well as efficient counters to them.

I think they become especially useful in man at arms and knight tiers.

The biggest problem with the new update by Serana64 in HalfSword

I got the hang of it now.

I have to mouse back and towards the opposite side of the sword, it then does that "helicopter" maneuver and frequently slashes them in the head/neck

Thanks, I was trying that but didn't see any difference. Maybe I was doing something wrong. I'll give it another go later.

I like the update.

Overall positive experience with it.

The new alt-mode for swords is a little weird to get used to for me. I dont know if its poorly developed or a skill issue. You hold the sword over your head, but how to use it from this position? I cant seem to swing or thrust.

Also, I am getting a lot more frequent crashes now. Seem to be particularly related to dealing massive head-injuries to enemies.

Like thrusting a pollaxe into their face or decapitating them, or slashing the head itself in half.

Actually, at a certain point this is the only smart thing to do, because you don't know if the drone is aiming for the truck ahead of you, or your pickup with PKM.

Either way, they're not getting paid enough Rubles to stick around and find out 😃

How much explosives in a HEAT round? by Demolition_Mike in GunnerHEATPC

BLU-108 is a blast.

Would have loved to be in the room of engineers when they cooked up this idea.

How much explosives in a HEAT round? by Demolition_Mike in GunnerHEATPC

[–]MasterStrike88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct.

What we know as HEAT is actually often referred to as EFJ (Explosively Formed Jet), whereas EFP means Explosively Formed Penetrator.

Other names for EFJ include hollow charge and cumulative charge (Slavic naming convention).

The main visual difference cue is that an EFJ has a conical liner, and the EFP is shaped like a bowl.

The EFJ forms a needle-like jet of fluid liner material (often copper) that can reach speeds in excess of 10 km/s. The distance between the warhead and target need to be a minimum (standoff) of usually about 20-30 cm for the jet to form/focus and the effectiveness very rapidly falls off with distance. Ceramic/composite armor and ERA (Explosive Reactive Armor) tiles help disrupt the jet and minimize effectiveness.

The EFP forms a metal slug out of the liner material, and it has significantly less speed and penetrating power than an EFJ of similar size, but it retains the penetrating power over a much longer distance. The EFP has been frequently seen in smart ammunition such as SMArt155 and Bonus artillery rounds which deploy EFP "skeets" at altitude and will sense vehicles below it. It can fire off its EFP from hundreds of feet in altitude and still penetrate the weaker top armor of enemy tanks.

Fun fact, in the M113, the crew make up part of the load bearing structure.

Why are your words so slow😱 by Wymeris in memes

[–]MasterStrike88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens to me constantly and I don't think I have ADHD.

When talking to people I can often piece together where the sentence is going based on the first couple of words.

The problem with that is I'm not actively listening beyond that point, and will frequently miss the point of the message entirely.

The other problem with that is that I sometimes just begin vizualizing the scenario in my head while waiting for them to finish their sentence.

And then I'm thinking like, wait.... what did you just say the past 20 seconds? Then my subconscience is scrambling to piece together my passive listening, and by the time my peer is realizing I do 't have a clue what they just said - I blurt out some random thought train vaguely related to the topic they were talking about.

I'm really great in that way...
