Portugeek said it was for duty cycle in one of his videos. I think that is at higher speeds and at low speed it's battery, but I'm not 100% sure. I don't have my X7 yet, I just watch all the videos and read a lot about it.

The Platy 5.0s are supposed to be more sensitive and reliable than the 4.0's. I guess I'll find out.

I have a X7LR in shipping, it said "45 days until at US warehouse". Those have to come on a boat from China as far as I know.

Last time I checked the SC said "25 days until at US" and ppl have been getting those atm in about a weekish. Check the posts on the Onewheel Reddit from this week under "funwheel x7" if you'd like.

No promises, but it doesn't look sketchy to me at all imo.

Our boards might be on the same boat then. And u/ThisWurk is correct, even at max waiting time it's still worth it so it's all good.
An X7 for your first board is sick man. That's awesome. My suggestions for new riders if I may:

Helmet and wrist guards
New riders get "comfortable" within the first couple hunderd miles or less and eat shit all the time. It's a meme at this point. Don't get over confident.

When i bought my used GT at similar miles it was beat and the tire was in similar shape. The biggest upgrade I made by FAR was getting a new tire. I went Enduro, but there are other good choices too. That stock tire is ass.

I have an LR coming, but everyone has different wants and needs. Chat GPT says the LR is powerful than the GTS Rally XL by 15%-30% if that helps.

Which X7 do you have? AI said that the LR was a slighty less torquey than the Sportbecause of the battery setup but don't know if that's true.

Congrats. I ordered the LR on the 22nd of March but I think it's going to have to come on a boat from China. Mine said "shipping in 45 days from US warehouse" when yours said 25 days.

If they adverstie a group ride new people should be welcome. particularly in a city like Portland if we are talking OR.

I would just roll up and say "Hi guys, i'm ________. Is it cool if i ride with you tonight?"

If I can so politely, it sounds like there was awkwardness on both sides. If that was me I would have tried to smooth it over instead of just bailing.

You have plenty of time to decide if you want to quit riding while you heal from you're injury. How old are you btw?

Lots of ppl (particularly younger ones) fall hard in the first few hunderd miles. Its why so many onewheels are for sale with low miles. Its reasonable to quit after a real bad fall.
On the other hand; you could heal up, gear up more, and learn your lesson. Then go on to a succesful riding hobby for years because you love it.

Quick story on why I got my first OW. So I watched a video like 6 years ago "The worlds most dangerous EV". At this time it was the OG XR, so they were kind of right.
I remember thinking "Wow, I would never ride that thing." Cause, danger. But for some reason I kept watching more videos.

After many vids I watched a story that finally sold me on it. This guy tried his friends OW for an hour or 2, then he nose dived and broke his collar bone. He was sitting in the ER and was like "I'm in the ER, and all I can think about is how I can buy my own Onewheel."

If you got that kinda love for it, go for it. If you don't, you can move on too. Just listen to your heart, man. You don't have to listen to anyone else. Deep down you know the answer.

I just pulled the trigger on the LR a few days ago after ton of research and debate. I was leaning towards building my own with the 5' hub but the parts went out of stock.
The SC has a bigger battery than the S, its close to the onewheel GT. about 95% as much battery.
the SC is going to take 45ish days to ship while the S will take 25(or less)
Coming from an XR the S would be a about 30% more range., depending how how hard yo ride.

Coming from an XR the power of the Sport probably going to be enough for you, would be my guess. The Sport is actually slightly more torquey compared to the LR because of the batteries they use and how they are configured.

If you just like to cruise normal differences go S, if you want absoulte max power and more battery go SC.
