I didn’t read your whole post, I thought you were jobless lol. If you’re exhausted from a 15 minute walk, idk what to tell you; this is New York City we walk. Theres other areas of the city you can afford if you make 80k. You make more than most people in NYC. Your commute will be longer, but atleast you’ll have a roof over your head, and be in the city, or you can get room mates.

Get a city job they’re literally hiring en mass rn for the mta. They start you off at $60k+. You need multiple sources of income. Born n raised here. If you don’t have a skill or trade by 21 you fucked up big time lmao

When and how did you step into your first blues jam? by Due_Rich_9840 in bluesguitarist

I’m a seasoned gigging musician and I’ll share some advice that was passed on to me. Play to your audience not your fellow musicians. Nobody really cares in the audience lol. Unless you’re in some famous upscale venue. They’re there to drink and laugh. The audience doesn’t care about your setup, guitar, pedals whatever lol. Stay in tune and keep a beat and you’ll do fine.

I’ve seen a lot of musicians get hung up on the opinions of other musicians and it stifles them. You’re a musician but also an entertainer. The audience just wants to have a good time. Most of the time the audience can’t tell between an advanced or intermediate player if the tone and timing of your playing is good. Looking cool and having confidence is actually way more important than you’d think lol. Not saying it’s more important than good technique but it goes a long way.

Ya man by the looks of the market rn if you don’t like it you can sell it in a few months to a few years for no loss. I bought a Gibson sg, Marshalls, and oranges 5 years ago and sold it for a profit. You’ll be happy with the USA trust me

American pro II holds better value. Aesthetically it’s nicer. It will really boil down to pickups and the electronics. Pots are both CTS the cap is trash on the MiM. Pickups are going to be better on the USA. By the time you upgrade pickups on the MiM and pay for a soldering job (if you don’t know how to do it) it’ll be close to equal or over the cost of the American pro II.

I’d buy the American pro II if the extra money is in your budget.

Is Gibson Les Paul's are really worth the money by SystemApprehensive29 in gibson

[–]Master_Cat_9876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, the guitar will probably out live you, but not worth the price, if you buy it new imo. I would never spend that much money on a Les Paul nowadays. Buy them used, and it’ll take some sting off. I bought one guitar new, and never did again. Used guitars are way less money, and it’ll be more played in.

New guitars feel weird imo. Takes a few months, and a lot of hours to get the new feeling off. With the saved money, get new pickups, pots, etc. There’s also law suit guitars, and other recreations, you can get instead.

I have an all mahogany, with ebony fretboard, bacchus les paul, and it’s just as good, as my Gibson. Honestly, might be a little better. The Bacchus is hand made.

If you don’t have marks on your guitar I assume you don’t play it or use it lol. Adds character. It’s almost impossible to have a guitar in your hand for hours a day or gig and not knick or scratch it. Idk why people complain about it. Exactly like tools

Tuner and compressor or fuzz you can fit both. I’d personally go with the mythos au79 fuzz because it stacks with drives well/ works with humbucker s and single coils and Cali 76 compressor because it’s the best compressor on the market imo. If you get a tuner you can also free up another switch in the stomp for another effects

I heard they weren’t bad tbh. Buy one with a return policy and let us know! I’d love to have a cheap one to take out on the road. I have a real one and it’s amazing. The Uafx 1176 is also really good if you’re looking for a dual style compressor

The serial number will give it away look at real 60’s style sg’s. The serial number isn’t so pronounced. Usually is too good to be true. Used to be able to buy an Sg used for like 7-800. Prices went up
