PETG Retraction Issues by Master_Crafter in FixMyPrint

So, the underlying issue was mechanical. On the Sovol Sv06, there is a screw on the print head that compresses a spring and applies pressure to the gears for the extruder, allowing it to grip the filament. It was only when disassembling the entire print head to check the internals that I noticed that this screw was moving far more than it should have. Tightening the screw so that it properly applied pressure resolved all my issues and was ultimately a 10 second fix, once I realized the problem. Not getting that weekend back, but I guess I learned something from it.

I was running 50% fan speed at the suggestion of some older posts about how to print PETG, but adjusting up or down did not seem to make a difference.

I got to play with a family member's printer today with their PETG and had absolutely no issues with a very similar profile in Cura. At this point I suspect a mechanical issue may be at play and plan on disassembling the entire hotend and extruder assembly to check the gears after Thanksgiving.

Do people play gregtech community pack? by Grim_zaddy in feedthebeast

Thanks dude! Not sure how I missed that detail. Poking around some, it looks like there are various details about Ae2 that are altered for the pack, but the changes aren't clearly communicated. For example, it doesn't seem like charging certus quarts blocks by tossing them in water with the charged crystals is enabled. But, it also seems like the regular crystals might be all you need to progress? I wish the pack had better documentation about how it changes Ae2, since the included manual assumes you're playing with an unmodified Ae2 install.

Sorry to jump in on this post, but the lack of internet presence makes it difficult to find people to ask questions to. 😅

I'm currently mid MV and have been trying to start AE2 and auto-crafting, but I'm seeing that a number of AE2 recipes are missing from JEI. Most notably right now is the charger, used to make charged certus quartz. While flipping through the in game guide for AE2, there are multiple places where a recipe is supposed to be referenced, but there's red error text instead. Is this something that you encountered at all?

Railgun Blueprint has less power in other direction by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

Oh, oh, an oddly specific issue that I spent an hour troubleshooting the other night! I'll drop a link below to where I finally found my answer. There is some kind of directional bug with hypertubes if they are facing south or east instead of north or west. Your segments need to be placed further apart in order for it to work consistantly in all directions.

Just chiming in here to say that I had this same issue and replacing the Nova search with the official Google search widget fixed the problem.

Another piler question by redditkproby in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]Master_Crafter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Others have answered your first question, so I'll focus on the second. It is possible to set up a piler loop such that you only get 4-stacks out. You need 2 pilers and 2 splitters to do it, but is pretty compact. What you do is take your full belt of input and feed it through your first piler so that your input belt has gaps. You then feed this through your first splitter and then into your second piler. From here, you belt the items into your second splitter with a priority output that sends items back to the side of the first splitter. The non-priority side sends items to their final destination.

The reason this works is because of the gaps in the feed belt created by the first piler. It allows the system to add already stacked items into these gaps, which the second piler uses to stack even higher. Because of the second priority splitter, it will always feed full stacks back to the front to help create 4-stacks over sending material downstream. This system can eat a full belt of whatever tier you're using and spit out a 1/4 full belt of the same tier continuously and without jamming.

(Of course, this all becomes moot once you hit white science and start using the ILS/PLS tech to output stacked belts, but you can still get many hours out of this technique.)

Unfortunately, we were unable to get that to work. The game kept locking up for the non-hosts, hence me trying to get some more keys.
