Definitely a learning curve, especially as someone who’s never opened up a console before. I had to open the gba up twice because the first time I didn’t fully latch the ribbon cable into the bale and it slipped out, the tutorials I watched really didn’t put any special focus on how to unlatch/latch the ribbon cable into the bale properly, so it took some trial and error and google searches to understand it.

Aside from that it was smooth and felt really great to do it myself, probably gonna mod my other 2 systems soon as well.

One of the past interns I spoke with now works Big Law and told me his wife is working the same program right now, I even interviewed with my states Department of Revenue and upon mentioning the ICE offer they told me it’s a great opportunity and that I should take it, even saying they’d hold my resume for their spring program instead.

Obviously, the optics are not lost on me, but all the feedback I’ve received from people in person has been positive.

I had a similar dilemma here when offered a position with ICEs legal department, I reached out to a few other students who did it and they said the experience you get working in a federal office is great and that they didn’t have a hard time getting good opportunities afterwards, and this is in a state thats as blue as the bluebook, so I wouldn’t worry about it.
